Does Hollywood Have Trump’s Blood on Its Hands?
Liberal celebrities dubbed him Hitler, a democracy killer and called for his death
Louis C.K. has the dubious honor of being the first major star to call Donald Trump “Hitler.”
He was far from the last.
Sarah Silverman donned Nazi garb to cement that connection during the 2016 presidential campaign, setting a “resistance” theme that included death threats, Kathy Griffin’s ghastly performance art and, just days ago, a call for President Joe Biden to “blow [Trump] up.”
Director Rob Reiner’s July 12 Tweet compared Trump’s “Christian Nationalism” movement to Germany circa 1933.
Make no mistake. Christian Nationalism is the foundation of a second Trump presidency. https://t.co/HPxBdaqYTk

Yesterday, a 20-year-old gunman missed killing Trump by centimeters at a Butler, Pa. rally. We’re waiting for specifics on the gunman’s motives, although it doesn’t take Columbo to sniff out the basics.
The Left blamed Sarah Palin for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ 2011 shooting on the flimsiest charges imaginable. The media ran with the vile line of attack.
HiT is loathe to do that here given the lack of information regarding the assassination attempt. Suffice it to say the creative class has acted in a ghastly fashion for more than eight years.
This tolerant, progressive community should be ashamed of itself. And it’s high time for it to stop.
Will it?
We’ve yet to see many stars share their outrage over the July 13 shooting. Celebrities typically flock to social media to comment on breaking news headlines. When a mass shooting occurs we see a flood of social media messages demanding gun control now, for example, along with attacks on GOP politicians allegedly to blame.
No, repealing the Second Amendment probably won’t happen, but 18 children went to school today thinking they probably wouldn’t get murdered. Let’s fight for the outcomes we *want* to see in this country, however unlikely. https://t.co/TqNnlvUh9W

The Hollywood Reporter filed a story hours after the shooting that teased Hollywood’s reaction to the tragedy. yet all the story summoned was an odd Tweet from rapper 50 Cent, a few well wishes from minor country acts and comic-turned-podcaster Russell Brand.
The latter is as far from Hollywood as possible, both literally and figuratively.
The 2024 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards were held hours after the shooting. Media reports indicate no one brought up a tragedy that was on the minds of every American yesterday. It’s reminiscent of the recent film awards season coming and going and not a single celebrity mentioning the hostages held by Hamas.
Podcaster Megyn Kelly shared a chilling anecdote on her emergency podcast episode tied to the culture that may have fueled the shooting.
It’s OK If It’s About Trump, Hollywood…
She recalled appearing with actor Alan Cumming on a BBC talk show a day before the melee. The actor shared how he recently appeared at a Biden fundraiser and confirmed the Commander in Chief appeared hobbled by a dementia-related condition.
The Biden he saw up close resembled the elderly man overwhelmed during the June 27 presidential debate. The actor didn’t stop there.

The “X2” star blasted the debate moderators for not bringing up a new accusation alleging Trump raped a child.
“He says this on the air at the BBC,” Kelly recalled. “I said, ‘That is absolutely untrue. That is beneath a channel like this to even allow such an allegation to be aired, and there’s absolutely not a scintilla of truth to what you just said. That guy isn’t banned from the BBC. No one’s been fired. You didn’t even hear about this story … You can go out there and proclaim that Donald Trump is now a child molester … no problem.”
Kelly compared the incident to the heat actor Lawrence Fox received for crude comments made on British TV last year.
“You say about one Leftist woman that nobody wants to sleep with her after she said men’s mental health doesn’t really deserve much attention, and you’re fired,” she said of Fox’s dismissal from GB News. “There’s such a disgusting double standard, and it has to stop.”
Here’s an incomplete refresher course for those who forget how Hollywood stars inflamed the culture with their extreme Trump rage.

Directly? No.
Indirectly. Yes.
That’s the right question. The fact it’s not being asked by Hollywood says it all. To be fair to these cowardly lefties, your site regularly demonstrates how Hollywood has crushed those that stand against the hive mind (and the exceptions to the rule too).
The only good thing about Hollywood wearing it’s collective heart on its sleeve is that there’s no question where everyone stands. Spend your money accordingly.
lotsa blame to go around but yeah
It seems that only Democrats can call for violence and death of someone and get away with it. But they’ve been doing this for many decades. I do hope they will be held accountable by the American people.
This assassin attempt was the gun rights they want. Seemingly, Secret Service stood down their protection of the President. Former Cheetos President running the Secret Service incompetently almost had the Trump Cheetos killed. Democrats earned their pay last night. Their hateful rhetoric worked and managed to blame Republicans and MAGA for doing what Democrats are doing.
