Fallon’s ‘Both Sides’ Political Defense Is Fake News
'Tonight Show' host's history destroys claims of bipartisan yuks
Jimmy Fallon is no Jimmy Kimmel.
The ABC host is a political creature, using his “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” perch to push progressive talking points. Kimmel nearly lost the gig as a result, promoting a bald-faced lie in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
Fallon, the “Tonight Show” host since 2014, treats his late-night gig as a late-night gig.
Laughs. Sketches. Celebrity interviews. Monologues.
Except those monologues lean relentlessly to the Left. And, on occasion, so do the sketches. Fallon claims otherwise, telling CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” that his approach isn’t political in nature.
“We hit both sides equally, and we try to make everybody laugh, and that’s really the way our show works… I just keep my head down and make sure the jokes are funny.”
That is a lie, one the Legacy Media has repeatedly shared over the last 24 hours.
The truth? Yes, Fallon isn’t obsessed with President Donald Trump like his hard-Left peers. That part is accurate. Those hungry for fair-and-balanced political satire still need to look elsewhere.
It’s not found on this “Tonight Show,” unlike the days of Johnny Carson and Jay Leno.
The proof?
Fallon routinely chats up Democratic politicians and rarely invites right-leaning guests on his show. Greg Gutfeld’s recent appearance shocked Hollywood because it was such a rare occurrence.
Fallon isn’t above using his platform to promote left-leaning politicians. He invited then-presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg on his show in 2020 to shamelessly hawk his candidacy.
Fallon has used his “Slow Jamming the News” bit to push political talking points over the years. That segment abandoned its bipartisan approach during the Obama years. If you think he’ll let President Trump slow jam news about immigration or tariffs, you’re fooling yourself.
He also has fawned over Democrats like Andrew Cuomo and Hillary Clinton and pushed ineffective masking in public, a hard-Left talking point.
Fallon’s “Tonight Show” monologues routinely hit Trump and the GOP much, much harder than the Democrats. Remember how Fallon mocked President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline and Vice President Kamala Harris’ word salad speeches?
We can’t because it didn’t happen. Fallon, like the rest of his late-night peers (not named Gutfeld) protected Biden rather than speak truth to power.

The biggest example of Fallon’s overt, left-wing bias? Fallon invited Trump onto his late-night couch in 2016 during the presidential race. Late-night hosts routinely invite presidential candidates on their show, except over the last decade, that has meant exclusively liberal politicians.
Fallon treated Trump like any other guest, and there’s nothing wrong with that. During the exchange, Fallon playfully tousled Trump’s signature ‘do, showing the world it isn’t a toupee or other hair appliance.
It’s real.
The Left and Legacy Media outlets, but we repeat ourselves, melted down over the incident. The far-Left blowback was so severe Fallon apologized.
Let’s be clear. A late-night host apologized for treating a guest like a guest.
Fallon’s “Tonight Show” has been reliably liberal ever since. To say otherwise is Fake News on steroids.
Editor’s Note: It’s a brutal time to be an independent journalist, but it’s never been more necessary given the sorry state of the corporate press. If you’re enjoying Hollywood in Toto, I hope you’ll consider leaving a coin (or two) in our Tip Jar.
My only believe as to why Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show is still on the air, is so that his theme park attraction at Universal Orlando, ‘Race Though New York: Starring Jimmy Fallon’ can stay open. That’s my only guessing.
