Is Bill Burr Still on Team Luigi?
Formerly unwoke comic leaving fans scratching their heads over turnaround
Bill Burr’s 2019 Netflix special “Paper Tiger” was just what the doctor ordered.
The Massachusetts native set woke snowflakes’ blue hair ablaze with his gags. He attacked DEI gone wild, mocking those who insist actors only take roles that reflect their actual life, background or physical state.
“‘Why is there an able-bodied person playing a quadriplegic?’” Burr said about Bryan Cranston’s starring role in “The Upside,” the tale of a quadriplegic in distress. “It’s called acting, you dumb f***.”
Glorious.
That Bill Burr may be gone for good. The comic actor hasn’t been as outrageous or funny in some time. He’s all over the map when it comes to the woke mind virus now, often sounding like a second-rate Hasan Piker.
In short, what the bleep happened to him?
His craziest recent comments connect to Luigi Mangione, the young man who allegedly killed a healthcare executive in cold blood.
“Free Luigi!” Burr cried in one media appearance. Was he kidding? It sure wasn’t funny. Either way, it hinted at a dark transformation within him.

This week, it might have gotten worse. Burr gave a new interview to the far-Left Rolling Stone, and his comments regarding Mangione should give everyone pause.

The comedian suggested that healthcare officials took Brian Thompson’s death the wrong way. They should have considered why a maniac snuffed out the life of a husband and father, instead of beefing up their personal security.
“The response to the Luigi [Mangione] thing. It wasn’t ‘Maybe we need to look at what we’re doing if it makes some crazy person do this.’ [Healthcare executives’] response was to take their faces off the internet and get security. It’s like, you don’t think you need to examine this? You’re not the president. You’re just the CEO of a business.”
Naturally, social media is taking Burr to task better than the media ever could (or would).

Here’s what you people don’t understand and maybe this will help you when dumb actors say dumb things in the future. BILL BURR IS A SELLOUT . It’s that simple. When he was COUNTER CULTURE we loved him BUT THAT WAS ON HIS RISE, he is now a member of the DIRECTOR’S GUILD and if you didn’t’ know that GUILD means GROUP THINK, well, now you do. He has MOVIES and projects lined up for the next 3-4YEARS and that is why he has softened his stance of everything .

Chris Pratt is a FAR BIGGER star than Bill Burr he is swimming in waters only FEW understand . Example: When Aaron Sorkin contracted with TOM CRUISE to do “A Few Good Men” , it was Tom who suggested they put it on Broadway as a play so that Aaron could make some MONEY because TOM WAS BOOKED FOR FIVE YEARS STRAIGHT. After starring in 2 blockbuster franchises at the same time CHRIS PRATT has A BILLION dollars worth of movies to take him to the end of his career. I would argue that SELLING OUT JESUS is more important than selling out “Conservatism” which Bill was never a part of anyway.
Did anyone make it through Old Dads? That movie was all set up perfectly for Bill Burr-style humor, a movie made for his kind of schtick. So how did it end up generally humorless, anemic, and bad? Sometimes “woke” means not risking the funnier jokes.

Then he knows the ending better than either of us. Repeated lost opportunities for EASY laughs (and I’m not even a comedy writer) had me ditch that turkey about halfway in.
Exactly this. We sat down to watch it, thourghly loved the first half of classic Bill Burr, only to have the entire second half flip the script and go into Wokeville. I went from loving Burr to hating him. He lost all of his edge and now just plays fo rthe woke mob.
If you want to play in Hollyweird’s sandbox, you gotta put on the robes, burn candles, and drink some goat-blood. (Did I see Bill as a background extra in Eyes Wide Shut?)
