The Russian Collusion Hoax™ is one of the biggest scandals of the modern era. No, President Donald Trump didn’t collude with Russia to steal the 2016 election.
That narrative still swamped American culture for years, from Legacy Media’s breathless Fake News updates to most corporate comedy platforms.
Remember how “Saturday Night Live” obsessed over the big lie?
Beyond embarrassing, both then and especially now.
The same applies to this moment from Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” that captures the hoax in all its awful glory.

Yes, this Christmas-themed skit around Robert Mueller’s investigation should be “The Late Show’s” lowest point, full stop.
It isn’t.
That honor goes to this angry Colbert screed with a line so gross it caught even some mainstream news reporters by surprise.
“You’re the ‘presi-dunce,’ but you’re turning into a real ‘prick-tator.’ Sir, you attract more skinheads than free Rogaine. You have more people marching against you than cancer. You talk like a sign-language gorilla that got hit in the head. In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s c*** holster.”
The anti-gay slur got ignored by the Left. Naturally. And that is a regular occurrence. Just ask Jimmy Kimmel.
The “holster” line proved cruel, not funny. And, more importantly, inaccurate.
The Legacy Media has never come close to apologizing for pushing a lie that divided the nation and left an indelible stain on President Trump’s first term. The reporters who won Pulitzers for reporting on Fake News still have those trophies.
The lie also handcuffed the world leader, preventing him from carrying out the will of the electorate. Trump did win the 2016 election fair and square, remember?
It’s one of many reasons why we won’t shed a tear when Colbert signs off for good on May 21.
