Is Pedro Pascal the Ultimate Hollywood Hypocrite?

'Fantastic Four' star mourns Kimmel suspension after this shocking silence

Hypocrisy is the coin of the realm in Hollywood.

Studios pump out endless gun-soaked adventures but promote gun control at every turn. They talk of tolerance yet emplot a de facto blacklist against those who don’t pledge allegiance to the DNC.

The industry’s greatest hypocrisy is playing out before our eyes.

Hollywood stars, by and large, ignored the rise of Cancel Culture. They looked the other way as sensitivity readers erased passages by iconic authors like Roald Dahl. They self-censored rather than face up to the woke mob.

The biggest example may be prolific actor Pedro Pascal.

The “Mandalorian” star rose to fame following the Disney+ series, a rare example of a modern “Star Wars” saga done right. His stoic performance helped make that possible.

Let’s give credit where credit is due.

Yet when one of the show’s beloved cast members got canceled in 2021 for sharing the “wrong” views, Pascal didn’t say a word.

Gina Carano’s Disney banishment proved a Hollywood disgrace, one partially reversed earlier this year when the actress settled with the Mouse House. She just landed her first mainstream acting role since being cruelly fired for a post warning us what happens when we dehumanize one another.

Carano has spoken fondly of Pascal, saying they had a strong working relationship. Pascal never publicly disagreed, nor did any of Carano’s co-workers complain about time spent with the former MMA star.

“Mandalorian” co-star Bill Burr called Carano an “absolute sweetheart” but only months after her dismissal.

Perhaps Pascal is the kind of star who doesn’t like speaking out on controversial subjects. Some actors just act, leaving the activism to their peers. There’s some wisdom in that approach, especially given the current culture wars raging across the country.

Except Pascal never stops speaking up about his core beliefs. He promotes trans rights, partly due to having a trans sibling. He attacked author J.K. Rowling for her views on elements of the trans agenda, never fearing potential backlash.

Now, Pascal is rushing to denounce ABC’s suspension of talker Jimmy Kimmel. The late-night host aired a cruel lie about the motivation behind Charlie Kirk’s assassin and has yet to publicly apologize for his mistake.

Many Hollywood stars have rushed to Kimmel’s defense, warning it’s an attack on free speech.

That includes Pascal.

A post shared by Pedro Pascal he/him (@pascalispunk)

“Standing with you @jimmykimmellive … Defend #FreeSpeech Defend #DEMOCRACY”

If only he had done the same for Carano.

The situations aren’t identical. The far-Left insists President Trump, via the FCC, had Kimmel suspended. That’s not accurate. Two major affiliate groups, Sinclair and Nexstar, pulled Kimmel’s show after his egregious, pre-planned comments (and lack of an apology).

ABC has little choice but to officially suspend the show, although talks are ongoing that would let Kimmel back on the network.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr warned there could be consequences given Kimmel’s lie, but there’s no report confirming the government intervened in the matter. (Nor should it)

In Carano’s case, the social media post that was the proverbial last straw wasn’t a lie, nor was it cruel. It was an opinion aided by a Nazi-era analogy. Disney used the post as an excuse to fire Carano, who had previously questioned elements of the COVID-19 protocols, pushed electoral integrity, and refused to add pronouns to her Twitter bio.

The horror, the horror.

If Pascal cared about free speech, why wouldn’t he rush to Carano’s defense? Was it because he shared his own, cruel, Nazi analogy and feared the Mouse House’s wrath?

Why is he so quick to rush to Kimmel’s defense?

Those are the kinds of questions journalists should ask Pascal. They won’t.

Why? The answers would likely shame the progressive star and, perhaps, interrupt access to him for future movie releases.

The public sees the big picture, though.

  1. ABC, Iger, Disney, Marvel…. All are hypocrites and complete ignorants on the First Amendment right to Free Speech and Religion. Disney was violating the rights of religious workers who didn’t want to adhere to Covid protocols and take the vaccine that’s proven to be detrimental to health and doesn’t work. Disney will go down in flames by the time Robert Iger leaves the company in worse condition for the second time.
