Megyn Kelly Roasts Kimmel with His Own Words

New Media superstar shames Kimmel's shoddy defense with receipts

Jimmy Kimmel is not a news anchor.

That may seem obvious, but in recent years, late-night types have turned their shows into MSNBC lite.

Just the facts, ma’am.

If only.

Hosts routinely twist the news, sometimes beyond recognition, employing a “clown nose on/off” defense. Still, when Kimmel suggested Charlie Kirk’s assassin was Grade-A MAGA, it landed badly.

You’re suspended until further notice badly.

Enter Megyn Kelly.

The New Media giant roasted Kimmel for his ghastly comments, which neither resembled a joke or reality. And she threw Kimmel’s own words back at him in the process.

As a reminder, here is what Kimmel said about the alleged shooter on the Sept. 15 edition of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

Is there a mirror in his ABC studio? Apparently not.

Kelly brought the matter up on her Sept. 19 edition of “The Megyn Kelly Show.” And she recalled another Kimmel imbroglio, this one involving NFL great Aaron Rodgers.

The Hall of Fame-bound quarterback insinuated Kimmel’s name is part of the infamous Epstein List. Kimmel shot back, and understandably so, given the complete lack of evidence pointing in that direction.

Along the way, Kimmel exposed himself in ways that would haunt him later.

“As far as the ‘you say things about people all the time’ argument goes, yes, I do. It’s not the same,” Kimmel said at the time. “We say a lot of things on this show. We don’t make up lies. In fact, we have a lot of people who work very hard to sift through facts and reputable sources before I make a joke, and that’s an important distinction.

“And when I do get something wrong, which happens on rare occasions, you know what I do? I apologize for it. Which is what Aaron Rodgers should do, which is what a decent person would do.”

That inspired a profanity-laced tirade from Kelly.

“He is what we would call in the law a f***ing liar,” she said. “He says he has a team of fact checkers that don’t allow him to say lies, and if he errs, he’ll go out there and apologize … but he was entirely wrong in trying to blame this shooting on MAGA … and he knew it.”

Surely, those ABC fact checkers knew what the rest of the country knew about the alleged killer, she argued. The killer’s mom revealed he had drifted to the Left in recent months. He had a trans partner and was into furry culture.

And Utah Governor Spencer Cox confirmed that the shooter in question “was driven by Leftist ideology” and the bullets had far-Left messaging on them.

“All of that spells ‘Leftist’ to anybody with eyes and ears and a brain,” Kelly said.

“[Kimmel] knew … it was an intentional lie,” she said, adding the host went back to work Tuesday night and refused to apologize. Instead, he trotted out more anti-Trump rhetoric without telling his audiences he had misled them.

Kelly swung back to Kimmel’s initial statements, which included attacking the way President Donald Trump has mourned Kirk, one of his biggest supporters.

“We’re in mourning, you f***ing a**hole. We’re not capitalizing on the death of Charlie Kirk,” she said.

Reports say that Kimmel has been repeatedly asked to apologize for his inaccurate comments. As of now, he refuses to do so.

  1. This is not rocket surgery. One more time: The First Amendment has nothing to do with it. Except in very narrow circumstances, the government may not interfere with your speech. That is plainly different from asserting that anyone can say anything at all in any context at all without any consequence at all. Go ahead, speak freely, insult and belittle your spouse in public; the government won’t interfere, but rest assured there will be consequences. You can get in your boss’s face and call him a horse’s patoot and the government will not prevent it; but don’t expect to keep your job. You can tell your guests vile lies; the government won’t stop you; but don’t expect guests to visit often. There is no government hand at work here except for the clumsy, counterproductive reminders about FCC licenses and “public interest.” As if. The FCC has existed for nearly 100 years, has more than 30,000 licenses in force; and the total it has ever taken away FOR CONTENT VIOLATIONS can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
Like l’affaire Colbert, l’affaire Kimmel is about money. The network’s affiliates need programs that audiences like and that advertisers will pay for. Not only does Kimmel not attract audiences, at this point, he repels them. You know years ago in Vaudeville they used those hooks to get bad performers off the stage? That’s what you are witnessing.
The aftermath is also about money. Jimmy and his team know that his days are numbered, so how does Jimmy respond? He’s addicted to attention, and it is being withheld, and soon his money will dry up also. His agent, manager, personal trainer, writers etc. have a lot to lose. He would like to double or triple down to keep the attention flowing, but he can’t get back in front of an ABC camera. So a news camera or a podcast camera or a talk show camera will have to do for now.
On his best day, Jimmy is a meager talent. At the risk of mixing metaphors, the gravy train for him and those in his orbit is about to fall off the track, so expect this episode to be milked for as long as the cow will put up with it. There is no such thing as bad publicity, and if Kimmel’s handlers manage this well, not only can they try to push Kirk off the front page, they can spin this into Kimmel becoming the poster child for victims everywhere, forever, a brave guy who stood up to the MAGA villains and paid the ultimate price. You know, a victim like Charlie Kirk, except not as honest, smart, funny or dead.

  2. Here’s reality: Kimmel is gone, baby, gone, and he’ll never be back on public airwaves. He was fired for economic reasons and no broadcast media is going to knowingly urinate off their advertisers.

    1. Actually Kimmel’s back already. ABC decided to bring him back today.

It’s worse than if they’d never suspended him because at this point they’re just mocking us for not being able to resurrect Charlie and because now Kimmel will just use it for attention.

  3. How will the D’s showcase their top platform position in the midterms? Which is, of course, being the party that murders their opponents.

  4. SHE’S RIGHT ABOUT KIMMEL. BUT SHE’S ALSO A RACIST POS WHO WAS FIRED MULTIPLE TIMES FOR RACISM.
1 FIRST she was FIRED FROM NBC FOR DEFENDING BLACK FACE.

    2. Then she was incurred RACIST CONTROVERSY WHILE AT FOX for lying about SANTA, a fictional being she claimed was “WHITE” and JESUS CHRIST who could have incarnated himself in a WHITE BODY in EUROPE somewhere BUT WHO CHOSE TO VISIT THE EARTH IN A MIDDLE EASTERN NON WHITE JEWISH BODY.

SO to be CLEAR Jimmy Kimmel is SCUM but SO IS MEGYN KELLY!

  5. Good piece on Brietbart today about Jimmy making a major turn when he married his current ultra-left wife.
    Funny how that works.
Same can probably said for Bill Burr.
What fells won’t do or say for peace – and piece – in the household.

  6. Serious question: Why do liberals love gaslighting so much? It’s always their go-to-move. Is it because they’re narcissists and, like all narcissists, they partner with the weak minded (i.e their base) who always buy into said gaslighting? If it wasn’t so frightening, watching mass psychosis play out before our eyes is fascinating to observe. The answer to my question (Why do liberals love gaslighting so much) is this: Because it works.

    1. Answer is kind of obvious, if they didn’t gaslight, they would have to tell the truth. The truth about the Democrat party is that it is the party of slavery, KKK, socialism and communism. The New York Times, that great Liberal toilet paper denied that Hitler was putting Jews in concentration camps and furnaces. The Truth is no friend to Democrats, so they must gaslight.

    2. The answer is simple (and it’s “lying”, not “gaslighting”): The existential characteristic of liberalism is “self-deception”.

A liberal cannot be a liberal without lying to themself, they lie to themself about everything, without exception, And they first lie to themself and then to everyone else.
