Late Night Hacks Buy Fake News Hook, Line and Sinker
False narratives tied to surf and turf, Iranian threats power far-Left monologues

You almost feel sorry for Jimmy, Stephen and Seth.
Almost.
Late-night hosts lean on the Legacy Media to fuel their nightly monologues. That leaves them vulnerable to the rising wave of Fake News stories churned out to support The Narrative.
What Narrative? Anything anti-Trump will do. No need to fact check or fire up the ol’ Google machine.
This week, Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers pounced and seized on reports that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth squandered millions on “surf and turf”-style meals. It’s government waste of the highest order, they collectively cried.
Some news sites breathlessly promoted this narrative, too, and far-Left hosts couldn’t wait to mock the “scandal.”
Except, as ace reporter Salena Zito points out, presidents have historically treated military members to lavish meals. It typically occurs before important events or just as a well-deserved “thank you” for putting their lives on the line.
A shocking news story. Except it’s not. Not even remotely. https://t.co/NDeq4urX7u pic.twitter.com/cwYaCQdJ9Q

It is a common practice for the Pentagon to provide these special meals, often known as “surf and turf Fridays,” to our service men and women at least once a week. And this has been the case for decades.
Now, the kill shot from the veteran reporter.
But even if you’ve never covered the military, it takes less than 10 seconds to find context showing that this is standard procedure, instead of just framing the story as an extravagance and lack of character on the part of the secretary of war.
Brother, can you spare 10 seconds? Late-night writers sure can’t.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” feasted on the surf and turf non-scandal, too. He also unloaded on, who else, President Donald Trump, regarding a separate news story suggesting Iran had this weekend’s Oscars ceremony in its military sites.
Iran wants to hit the West Coast as retaliation for Operation Epic Fury. That could mean La La Land, too. And, as a result, the Academy Awards remained on high alert thanks to the warning.
That sparked this monologue from the far-Left Kimmel:
“[Trump] might even bomb us himself and blame it on you [Iran],” Kimmel quipped. “Just keep that in mind.”
Except that story wasn’t true, either.
ABC News got it wrong, turning an unverified item into a “sky is falling”-level outcry. The far-Left news outlet admitted as much after some White House pushback.
Thank you to ABC News for issuing a correction to this story.
The problem? Their original, misleading story received 10M views and panicked people across the country.
The correction only has 100K views.
Fake News is real and it is dangerous.

Kimmel once bragged that his show deploys a team of fact checkers to make sure his gags are based on the truth. Yet the show repeatedly fails on that front, most notably when he suggested Charlie Kirk’s alleged killer was on Team MAGA.
Sometimes, late-night propagandists follow the Legacy Media’s lead when scouring for laughs. And look where it gets them time and again.
