Hollywood’s Fauci Worship Part of Much Bigger Problem

Gal Gadot got plenty of heat for leading that “Imagine” sing-along at the start of the pandemic.

The “Wonder Woman” star realized how tone-deaf the clip proved, and she later apologized.

“I was seeing where everything was headed. But [the video] was premature. It wasn’t the right timing, and it wasn’t the right thing. It was in poor taste.”

Good for her. That brand of self-awareness is increasingly rare these days, especially in CelebrityVille.

Now, will we get apologies from other Hollywood stars for supporting Dr. Anthony Fauci after all we’ve learned this week?

Not likely. That’s a problem, of course. The bigger issue is more ominous.

Celebrities rallied behind Dr. Fauci for three specific reasons. The first was both natural and expected.

They were scared. We all were at the start of the pandemic. Dr. Fauci offered a calm, reassuring presence, and we were told he had the acumen to help keep us safe.

We needed that.

So stars naturally gravitated toward him, hoping he might lead us to a brighter tomorrow.

The other two reasons are more nefarious.

The media and, to a degree, Dr. Fauci himself, turned his public persona into an anti-Trump cudgel. Reporters loathed President Donald Trump at the time, and they still do. So news reports pitted Faucian wisdom against the president whenever possible.

Even though they were both, ostensibly, on the same side.

Dr. Fauci was all about safety while ignoring the greater harm caused by lockdowns and other punitive measures. President Trump erred on the side of getting back to normal and not letting the virus crush society.

The far-Left celebrity crowd chose Dr. Fauci’s approach. Bleep Trump, for starters.

It was more than that.

Heck, many had all the money they would ever need, something that we noticed about the Gadot videos shot in the stars’ expansive homes. Some kept on working, like late-night talk show hosts, while others scrambled to keep their businesses afloat.

Stephen Colbert mocked “MAGA” protesters for decrying the lockdowns, not understanding that those people were fighting for their livelihoods.

The third factor is the most maddening.

Stars, by and large, do little research on the subjects they promote. When Alan Ritchson calls President Trump a pedophile, he does so with zero evidence. Had the so-called Epstein Files featured proof of the leader’s underage sex proclivities, the Democrats would have leaked it during the Biden years.

They didn’t. It’s that simple.

Except Ritchson can’t be bothered to dig into the matter. He reads a few Fake News stories and blathers on as if he knows the truth.

He doesn’t. And he’s far from alone.

We can forgive celebrities for not understanding the scale of Dr. Fauci’s misdirections. Anyone can make a mistake like that.

Except we’ve learned over time how duplicitous his actions proved at a critical point in American history. The facts were out there for all to see.

Celebrities kept their eyes shut instead.

What’s less forgivable? The community’s inability to apologize and, more importantly, do the work to ensure their deeply flawed messaging won’t happen again.
