Megyn Kelly Torches Clooney, LuPone Over ‘Journalism’ Taunt
New media superstar dresses down progressives in epic fashion
Megyn Kelly counter-punches with the best of ’em.
The former Fox News superstar is now a media darling of her own creation. “The Megyn Kelly Show,” heard on SiriusXM and podcasting platforms across the globe, lets her weigh in on the latest headlines and often makes news, too.
One bonus? She has a massive platform from which to fight back against progressive smears.
She did just that regarding George Clooney’s Variety chat with Broadway star Patti LuPone. The duo dressed Kelly down in their recent conversation, suggesting she’s not a “real” journalist.
Clooney is starring in Broadway’s “Good Night, and Good Luck,” the theatrical adaptation of his 2005 film on the professional life of Edward R. Murrow.
“Clooney fancies himself a journalist, you see, and has lots of thoughts on how journalists need to do journalism,” Kelly said, kicking off her April 23 broadcast. “Like he does it, mainly, stumbling upon the biggest story of the decade – that a sitting president is mentally infirm and ought to be 25th Amendmented right out of office and then burying it, saying absolutely nothing for weeks on end.”
“That’s not journalism, George. That’s cowardice, followed by naked partisanship,” Kelly said.
Kelly notes that “Good Night, and Good Luck” ends with a barrage of news clips including one of Kelly herself. Elon Musk’s so-called “Nazi” salute at the 2025 inauguration also made the cut.
“Because Elon Musk and I are the dangers Clooney fears, not the propaganda that was pushed on us for four years by his favorite leftist, so-called journalists, that President Biden was fine. … or the four years before that saying Trump was a Russian asset,” she said.
She read a snippet of the Variety chat between Clooney and LuPone. Kelly’s name came up in an unflattering way.
Clooney: I don’t care much in terms of what they say. We don’t tell people what to think when we show that montage at the end, for instance. You see Megyn Kelly, who’s come out and said I’m not a journalist. I didn’t say I was a journalist.
LuPone: Neither is she.
Clooney: I’ve at least been to Darfur and Sudan and the Congo and been shot at to try to get stories out. I’m not quite sure what she’s done to be a journalist. Having said that, we only show her words in this play. We don’t tell people what to think. It’s not out of context. We don’t manipulate it. We literally just go, “These are your words.”
Kelly quickly educated the pair on her journalistic bona fides.
“Absolutely none of my stories held any interest for George Clooney. Of that, I have no doubt,” Kelly said before ticking off an impressive list of accomplishments.

Kelly also said the anecdote where Clooney was shot at in the Darfur region of Western Sudan didn’t happen.
The truth? A 10-year-old child pointed a gun at Clooney and his vehicle while they were filling a documentary in the African nation. He was never shot at, Kelly noted.
“George, this is not the kind of truth and integrity we want in our profession,” Kelly scolded the actor.

George did a movie called “The Men Who Stare at Goats”! It has to be the WORST – maybe in a tie with The Aquatic World of Steve Sassoon – ever produced! That has nothing to do with the article – just thought I’d toss that out there!
George should remember he is an actor and some kind of coffee pot pusher. His politics are much like your run of the mill Hollywood Leftist – insane, but nothing to really consider!
