Did Left Attempt a ‘Renee Good’-Style Attack on Daily Wire Movie?

The Daily Wire says an anti-ICE activist nearly suffered the same fate as Renee Good.

The series of events is the latest attempt by the Left to silence speech by any means necessary.

That could mean assassinating a conservative icon (Charlie Kirk), surrounding a conservative speaker (Riley Gaines) or threatening violence against a movie project supporting the work ICE agents do to keep the nation safe.

Good died Jan. 7 after she failed to follow direct orders from ICE agents during a heated confrontation. Good, who had trained to be an anti-ICE activist, was blocking an agent’s vehicle with her Honda Pilot when she was ordered to leave the car.

Instead, she briefly put the car in reverse and started driving toward another ICE agent, according to The New York Post’s account. It’s unclear if she was trying to flee the scene or aimed to strike the officer in question.

It’s very likely the former, but the agent couldn’t read her mind. He fired several shots in her direction, killing her. Her family is now suing the Trump administration over her death.

This week, a similar scenario played out in Livingston, Mont., where a Daily Wire original film is in production. The movie, tentatively titled “Pawn Shop,” offers a pro-ICE story in defiance of Hollywood’s progressive posture.

That’s called free speech.

The production has been harassed by locals aghast at the content of the film ever since the shoot began. Major media outlets have played up the locals’ concerns, ignoring the fact that many films are shot all over the country in a legal fashion.

Those films didn’t offer a counter-argument to the Left’s anti-ICE mania, though. “Pawn Shop” does, which puts a target on the production’s back.

Literally?

The Daily Wire’s press team shared shocking details about the Left’s attempt to derail the “Pawn Shop” production.

A few interruptions proved comically inept but problematic, like locals loudly playing musical instruments. Some repeatedly shouted obscenities to disrupt the shoot. Others doxxed crew members and later harassed them in town.

More threats? Protesters vowed to slash the tires of cars belonging to the cast and crew.

Other attempts to stop the shoot were more dangerous.

On Sept. 29, a female activist unleashed “a bag of airborne seed pods” on the set. The production’s medical team treated 18 cast and crew members for a variety of issues, including throat and eye irritation, allergic reactions and coughing.

A private Facebook page dubbed “Livingston Montana Rant and Rave” post a death threat to one of the film’s producers – “Shoot the f***ing bitch in the head.”

The most frightening moment? Someone driving a Jeep Cherokee wouldn’t leave the production perimeter as demanded. The driver rolled the vehicle toward two security managers instead. The Daily Wire says the car pinned the pair against a wall.

One of the security managers reached for a sidearm, and the confrontation ended. 

Sound eerily familiar?

The production had to increase its security presence as a result of the altercations. All this to stop a movie that offers an alternative take on ICE, Good’s death and the need for immigration enforcement.

The local city commission held a seven-hour meeting to address a request to stop the production entirely. The commission eventually reinstated the film’s shooting permits.

“The Ben Shapiro Show” covered the matter in the host’s latest episode. The clip begins with a protester crying, “Free Palestine” and “[Bleep] this movie.”

“Then the media sided with the censors,” Shapiro said.

He’s right.

The Bulwark did exactly that. Other outlets reported on the matter without any outrage or worries over First Amendent violations. Would reporters react the same way if a pro-abortion movie faced similar obstacles?

Needless to say, these same media outlets will not report on the serial threats against the production and individual cast and crew members.

Bank on it.

This is just the latest example. You’d think sites like Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter or Variety would be aghast at a film production under fire from local radicals, no matter the film’s content.

And you’d be wrong. They want “Pawn Shop” shut down nearly as much as the far-Left protesters.

The film stars Myles Clohessy, Danny Trejo, Harvey Keitel, Henry Thomas, CJ Salvador, Noel Guglielmi, Paris Bravo, Joseph Lucero, Eddie Spears, Simon Rhee, and Forrie J. Smith. Director Michael Polish previoysly helmed “Terror on the Prairie” as well as “The Astronaut Farmer, “Twin Falls Idaho” and “Force of Nature.”

UPDATE: Variety is covering the matter, citing Shapiro’s words regarding free speech. No mention of the physical threats against the cast and crew.
