Bill Maher to Macklemore ‘You Don’t Know S***’

The man who said the most outrageous thing about the 9/11 attackers is now America’s voice of reason.

Let that sink in.

Bill Maher got in serious trouble following the 2001 terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 Americans for this hot take.

“We have been the cowards. Lobbing cruise missiles from two thousand miles away. That’s cowardly. Staying in the airplane when it hits the building. Say what you want about it. Not cowardly.” 

ABC didn’t fire Maher immediately, but the blowback played a factor in the show’s eventual demise.

Now, Maher has become a beacon of sanity in an unhinged late-night landscape.Maher referenced his infamous quote on Friday’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” The HBO episode aired 25 years after the 9/11 attacks. And he used the moment to scold “prominent” Democrats for siding with terrorists.

Tough love?

To do so, he drew a direct line from the 9/11 savagery to the modern Israel/Palestinian conflict. He threw facts and figures at his audience, repeatedly mocking young Americans for getting their “wisdom” from TikTok.

And he skewered a pop star in the news for attacking Israel’s so-called “genocide” against Palestinians.

“[The 9/11 terrorists] weren’t cowards. But I’ll tell you who is. Democratic party politicians, and I’ll tell you why. Because nowhere has this moral confusion become more obvious than in a place called Gaza, a little strip of land that was not part of the original Israel but which they won in a war launched against them, but then gave back as a peace gesture,” Maher said. “Did they tell you that part on TikTok, kids?”

“The people who run Gaza, Hamas, who you celebrate as a liberation movement but are really a terrorist mafia gang just like the one that terrorizes Haiti, only ever used it to stage attacks on Israel,” he said.

He was just warming up.

Next, he attacked (not by name) celebrities like Mark Ruffalo, Javier Bardem and Hannah Einbinder who relentlessly attack Israel and praise the Palestinian cause.

“I think Macklemore spoke for all clueless celebrities when he said, ‘I know enough to know this is a genocide. Actually, you don’t know s***.”

Macklemore recently lectured the crowd at an Ed Sheeran concert with his pro-Palestinian talking points, drawing outrage from select Jewish groups.

“It’s not a genocide. It’s a counter-attack in a war, a war that’s been waged on Israel since 1948 based on the ridiculous premise that Jews don’t belong in the one place on earth they are indigenous,” he said. “Hey geniuses, they’re the Indians in this scenario.”

Later, he returned to his thesis that too many modern Democrats have Hamas’ back, a group that steals food from its own citizens in addition to its savagery. Meanwhile, Israel sends massive amounts of aid to Gaza and allows for Palestinians to travel in order to get life-saving medical attention.

Worst genocidal movement ever, no? That’s Maher’s comic point, one you will not hear from the mouths of John Oliver, Jon Stewart, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon or Seth Meyers.

“Gaza equals genocide is a lie. An easily provable lie. And the fact that so many prominent Democrats go along with it is, to me, the party’s worst moment since they undid Reconstruction after the Civil War,” he said.
