Media Not Done Bullying Danny Trejo
Hollywood Reporter piles on elderly 'Machete' star for 'pro-ICE' film

You’d think Danny Trejo had leered at an extra or manhandled a personal assistant.
Stars can misbehave just like the rest of us, but Trejo has been a good citizen for decades following his early brushes with the law.
They even made a movie about those dark days.
Now, though, Trejo is getting pummeled by the Left. He dared to co-star in a Daily Wire film, for starters. Even worse? The movie in question appears to take a pro-ICE stance on immigration matters.
That cannot stand.
The pressure got so intense he had to make a statement to TMZ to explain himself. He’s 82 years old and chose to make a movie with a point of view that’s uncommon in his industry.
That’s his thought crime.
Now, the far-Left Hollywood Reporter is sharing how he inadventently made that movie for Ben Shapiro’s conservative company. The film is “Pawn Shop,” a project that came under serious, potentially fire from far-left agitators. Here’s how the outlet described the upcoming film, sight unseen:
…it’s not hard to imagine Stephen Miller in the front row, hugging a big bucket of popcorn.
So, that’s bad? Are Republicans allowed to see their view of the world on the big screen or nah? Given how no Legacy Media outlet objected to the extreme harassment aimed at the “Pawn Shop” cast and crew, we know the answer.
Back to Trejo.
The actor woudn’t speak to The Hollywood Reporter on the matter (good for him). Still, the outlet tried to do damage control on the star’s behalf. (that’s after the media targeted him in the first place)
… a source close to the production says he had no idea the film was being produced by Ben Shapiro’s Daily Wire, the conservative media company behind such MAGA-leaning pictures as the 2023 anti-trans comedy Lady Ballers.
It turns out Trejo previously worked for The Daily Wire, providing a voice for its “Mr. Birchum” animated series.
Now, THR turns up the heat:
But Pawn Shop is considerably harder to mistake for just another acting job.
No, actually, it is another acting job. Literally.
It’s a role in a movie that he accepted because he has “agency” and can do what he pleases. And he doesn’t have to adhere to only one side of a given issue. Or, he can disagree with the film’s point of view and still see it as a viable gig.
Chances are, Trejo will have to vet whatever acting roles come his way next. Or, some casting directors might decide it’s not worth aligning with the star for fear it might trigger his liberal co-stars.
Perhaps the roles will just dry up, as they sometimes do for actors over 80.
Either way, the media and the Left (but we repeat ourselves) wanted to make an example of an elderly man to scare other actors from taking the “wrong” project.
Mission likely accomplished.
