Alan Ritchson Doubles Down on Cops, Attacks DeSantis
'Ungentlemanly Warfare' star lashes out Florida Republican in latest hard-Left rant
Alan Ritchson has a funny way of promoting movies.
The star behind “Reacher” hits the big screen once more Friday with “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.” The Guy Ritchie romp, loosely based on true events, casts him as a World War II-era soldier battling the Nazi menace.
This is the perfect time for him to spread the word about the film and coax as many people to see it in theaters.
Instead, he’s spent the last few weeks attacking:
- Christians
- Donald Trump
- Law enforcement
And, now, he’s expanding his target list to include Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Previously, Ritchson mocked Christians for supporting a “con man” like President Donald Trump and slammed police during a The Hollywood Reporter interview.
Cops get away with murder all the time, and the fact that we can’t really hold them accountable for their improprieties is disturbing to me. We should completely reform the way that we do it. I mean, you shouldn’t have to spend more time getting an education as a hairstylist than as a cop who’s armed with a deadly weapon. We should make it very hard for people to make mistakes or abuse power in our institutions,”
That drew a heated response from the National Fraternal Order of Police.
While Mr. Ritchson gets his face and forehead powdered on set, our officers are out doing a job he doesn’t have the courage to do.
While he gets to hear loud pops and have blanks fired at him, our officers feel the heat of the bullets as they pierce their skin.

Ritchson’s “Warfare” opens this Friday, April 19, but he saw fit to fire back at FOP via his Instagram account.

This kind of emotionally immature response is the epitome of what concerns me about law enforcement today. If this is how leadership handles a peaceful disagreement, what does life look like for those unseen interactions in the street?
How does this shape the character of those police officers looking to management?
Do you really want individuals so easily angered, who bully like school children to have a gun and the protection of an untouchable union?
I don’t.
Then he targeted DeSantis:
To make matters worse, in Florida, voters perpetuate these issues by continuing to support people like Gov. Desantis [sic] who just passed a law making it illegal for anyone other than the police to police themselves. This, lack of transparency would be laughable if not so deadly.
To recap:
An actor whose star is on the rise has a new movie hitting theaters nationwide. Instead of taking a diplomatic approach to interviews and social media, he’s attacked massive groups nationwide.
- Trump fans
- Conservatives
- DeSantis supporters
- Cop supporters
- Christians
The First Amendment gives Ritchson the right to say all of the above, of course. No one suggests he should be prevented from speaking his mind.
Ironically, his fellow liberals loathe said right.
The only difference between the tyrannical censorship of social media dissent by that Brazillian judge and the Biden American censorship machine is that the American courts have, so far, ruled Biden's tyranny tyrannical. I hope the US Supreme Court agrees.

Will his comments negatively impact “Warfare” at the box office? We’ll see.
The film is currently projected to earn just $6 million during its opening frame. That’s a terrible haul for a blockbuster-style action film.
I had enjoyed the “Reacher” series quite a bit – but after reading several articles about this oversized Karen – I am cancelling my subscription to Amazon Prime Video. I am sure Amazon will be happy to see folks cancelling due to Richson’s big mouth. See ya!!
Why? Do you think cops should be let off the leash without accountability or controls?
Of course not. But his comments suggest it’s happening on a mass scale. There’s no nuance here, no proportionality. For the men and women who protect us … they deserve better than his blunt attacks.
I wouldn’t watch this turd if you paid me. I’m done with Hollywood. Got rid of my TV years ago. Better to pay for subscriptions to Tucker, fund David Knight, Alex Jones, Joe Rogan, Laura Loomer, James O’Keefe and real Americans and not traitorous trash I’d gladly take out if given the chance. Dude better watch where he goes, but like many of them, they’ll come running to Florida to hide. Stay in Kalifornia and the s-hole you made it.
AS a FORMER Fan, this POS has smoked his career and good riddance
I hear he’s doing this to get James Gunn’s attention so he can play Batman. I hope Gunn ignores him and both his upcoming movie and Reacher season 3 flop
I think it’s catch 22 with these new actors. They need work, so they tow the lefty line. But they also alienate a significant part of their audience. I guess the money triumphs all the time. Or…maybe he is an idiot that actually believes this nonsense. Who knows?
He’s just not that bright. He goes after the police union for an “emotionally immature response.” But his original salvo at cops was a hand grenade with zero nuance. You can’t paint with a broad brush and then act offended when you’re (rightly) criticized for it.
If Ritchson wants respect for his political views, then he’s going to have to demonstrate there’s more depth to them then something hashed out in a freshman dorm.
Very well said. His initial comments had all the nuance of a TikTok video…

This idiot is completely in line with the idiot that writes the Reacher novels. Lee Child can’t keep his liberal stupidity out of his novels. If you read the Reacher novels after the first 5 or so, it is obvious. He couldn’t keep it in check. I’ve been off of Reacher for so long (because of Child) that I’ve never seen this buffoon play the role.
As Johnny Depp, the actor, said, “I lie for a living.”
Like most have said Mr. Ritchson knows what to say to keep getting work. Being a far leftist is what gets you work in Hollywood, The good news is most major studios are losing money. Will this make them change? Probably not. With AI coming I’m betting Hollywood will die on the vine. If this happens at least we’ll be spared actor’s views of the world.
Rachel Zegler: Watch me tank my next film.
Alan Richardson: Hold my beer.
He’s just saying what he knows will help him get work. He gets paid a flat fee up front. If the movie bombs, why should he care?
the public doesn’t employ him, the studio execs do. So eff the public and kiss the studio execs’ butts. That’s how you succeed.
That’s why I try to watch as little as possible from the major studios. I’ve heard enough behind-the-scenes stories from people like Ben Shapiro to know that these are awful, awful people. Fortunately, the quality of product from the major studios has been so bad I’m not really missing much by going the indie and foreign film route.
He does get paid up front but if people aren’t watching his projects, the amount he gets paid next time will drop significantly. I loved the 1st season of Reacher, the 2nd was OK but not as good. I’ve been looking forward to 3. I generally don’t make my decisions based on people’s politics but the dividing line for me is not over policy differences but the kind of attacks.
Ritchson does an increasingly typical attack by making an inflammatory statement ( “cops murder people all the time and have no accountability”) and a widely accepted statement (that he thinks “there should be more accountability”) then claiming that the FOP “overreacted by not being civil”, ignoring his own inflammatory accusations of routine murder and focusing only on his second point. It is a debating tactic that would never be accepted in a rational and fair debate setting. He accused them of murder, for pete’s sake, and then gets his panties in a twist when they respond in a negative manner.
Very well said. He’s new to fame-fame … and I suspect he’ll learn and grow. His voice carries further than before and people will react to it.
I don’t like to get all snowflakely on this stuff. But I’m also exhausted by celebrity lectures. Stars CAN speak out on issues, but they should do so with context, clarity and a sense of proportion. Angelina Jolie is often a good example here, even if I don’t agree with her.
We don’t listen to the organ grinder’s monkey when deciding who or what to vote for. So no, we don’t take you seriously other than to say I certainly won’t be watching any of your shows.
So you play a character who operates outside the law, then say “Cops get away with murder all the time, and the fact that we can’t really hold them accountable for their improprieties is disturbing to me.”. Then whine about most cops are honorable, but”. Everything after the but is your true belief. Enjoy Season 3, I won’t be watching.
Henry Cavil can’t seem to catch a break. The DCU implosion, The Witcher meltdown, Games Workshop’s hard woke turn, and now this clown right before a big movie release.
That’s a great point. He must be seething at Ritchson’s anti-charm offensive.
He needs to cut back on the ‘roids . . .
Yes, he sure does. Just like Dave Bautista.
Or John Cena
They don’t call trenbolone the divorce roid for nothing!
Liberalism is a mental illness.
That is absolutely right. Well said.
Alan is yet another useful idiot who gets all his news information from one sided commie propaganda. I mean, he plays make believe for a living! Should I take anything he says seriously?! I didn’t think so.
Why don’t you take it easy, Champ? Maybe just stop talking for a while.
Yes, Alan. Please keep your mouth shut and act.
Amen. (My original comment wasn’t directed at you but at Ritchson, just for the record.)
