WATCH: ‘Reagan’ Trailer: What Leadership Looks Like

Dennis Quaid brings Gipper to life in sprawling, star-studded biopic

Remember leadership?

It’s in short supply of late, with politicians clinging to polls and special interests to make decisions. Some threaten with the might of a nation while lesser countries do as they please.

Reagan” hails from another era.

The upcoming biopic of the nation’s 40th president arrives Aug. 30, but we’re getting our first look at the film this week via its official trailer.

REAGAN Movie Official Trailer (2024) - In Theaters August 30

From dusty small-town roots to the glitter of Hollywood, and then on to commanding the world stage, REAGAN is a cinematic journey of overcoming the odds. Told through the voice of Viktor Petrovich, a former KGB agent whose life becomes inextricably linked with Ronald Reagan’s when Reagan first catches the Soviets’ attention as an actor in Hollywood, this film offers a perspective as unique as it is captivating.

“I’ve always been told bits and pieces of the stories of Ronald Reagan’s life, but this movie puts the whole story together,” Quaid said in a press statement. “I’ve played quite a few real people over the years, and I like to play them from their point of view, without judgment. It was a big challenge for me to get behind the public persona of the man and also to move beyond my own feelings of admiration for him.”

The film doubles as the debut for Showbiz Direct, a new studio led by former exhibition veteran Kevin Mitchell, former Lionsgate distribution president Richie Fay and former co-president of Open Road distribution Scott Kennedy.

  1. Last weekend I saw a doc called Hollywood vs. Commies and they showed a lot of Reagan’s efforts to fight communism. It was made in 2013 and it’s worth a watch if you can find it.

  2. Dennis Quaid is starring in a positive movie about Reagan with Jon Voight, Nick Searcy and Robert Davi?
And he appeared on Jordan Peterson’s podcast?
