The War on ‘Run Hide Fight: Infidels’ Begins (As Expected)

Far-Left outlets rage against DailyWire+ original (but praised THIS film)

The far-Left Legacy Media has two modes when it comes to conservative art.

  • Ignore it
  • Trash it

Most critics avoided “What Is a Woman?” and “Am I Racist?” for example. And, when someone decided “Sound of Freedom” was MAGA-coded, reporters declared war against the film, shredding their integrity in the process.

Now, it’s time to take down “Run Hide Fight: Infidels.” The new DailyWire+ original, debuting today on the platform, follows a radical Muslim group taking over a woke university.

The film features plenty of ripped-from-the-headlines moments, from pro-Gaza protesters trashing universities to radical Islamists attacking gay people.

The very few mainstream reviews of the film have been far from kind.

Let’s start with the far-Left Variety. The site’s critic savaged the film, which is obviously subjective, but these elements are anything but.

First, the critic suggests that no university should have allowed the production to hunker down on its campus:

Laughton University (actually South Carolina’s Limestone University, if you were curious what venerated institution would allow this film [emphasis added] to be shot on their campus)

Next, it launches a hilarious attack on the film’s satirical elements.

Rather than making a satirical point about liberal overreach, the movie argues that all this empathy for other people — including for the Indigenous tribes whose land was seized on behalf of the school, or Palestinians trying to hold onto theirs — is a purely oppressive force.

If you can’t see the obvious humor and hypocrisy in land acknowledgements, what can we say at this point? Even far-Left comedian Stavros Halkias happily mocks them.

Next, the critic attacks one of the film’s producers personally.

Instead, the filmmaker becomes a megaphone for his producer, right-wing commentator Ben Shapiro, whose debate style tends to involve steamrolling his opponent with strawman arguments and acting surprised when they become exasperated.

Shapiro is one of the sharpest conservatives on the planet, not a grifter who traffics in “strawman arguments.” More importantly, review the film – not the producer.

Slate trotted out the old saw about “seeing a problematic movie so you won’t have to.” That’s a familiar saw for liberal critics when forced to watch a right-leaning project.

Courage!

Next, the reviewer cites an on-set accident to attack the film.

When you look up details on the production of Infidels, you find a really fun Deadline headline: “Jonathan Majors Fell Through a Window on Daily Wire Action Flick, Leading Crew to Walk Off Set; Producers Say They ‘Don’t Negotiate With Communists.’ ” The union of entertainment workers IATSE called a strike against the production while it was ongoing, apparently due to a series of safety concerns

Hey, did you like the film or not? What are we judging here? Does Slate do a deep dive on all the titles it reviews, or just the ones made by conservative platforms?

Oh, and the critic spoils the ending sans spoiler warning. Nice.

Meanwhile, critics raved about “One Battle After Another,” the 2025 film that glorified anti-government violence.

It even won a Best Picture trophy.

The worst attack “Infidels” may have come from an unexpected source. The Alamo Drafthouse chain cancelled a screening of the film this week. The cancellation, confirmed by The Daily Wire’s PR team, would mark a rare chance for non-subscribers to screen the movie.

An innocent mistake? A snafu? Or yet another example of a right-leaning voice being silenced?

We’ve seen the latter happen again and again and again, so viewing the cancellation with suspicion isn’t just wise. It’s warranted.

In a way, the war against the film started weeks ago. The LA Times savaged the film as racist without having seen a single frame of it.

Just know the attacks will continue. And, any attempt to silence the movie or reduce its reach won’t be viewed as a free speech violation by the same people screaming about Macklemore’s cancellation.

  1. It just tells me that the access media critics and the people running Alamo Drafthouse, are communists. Communists also defend Radcial Islam. Go figure.
