Stallone’s MAGA Move Can’t Stop ‘Tulsa King’

Paramount+ teases two more seasons of actor's popular mob series

Zachary Levi called his public support for Donald Trump “career suicide.”

Many of his peers feel the same, which explains why they stay quiet rather than share their right-leaning views.

Sylvester Stallone may have been one of those silent voices. Until now.

The “Rocky” legend toasted President-Elect Trump last week, days after the real estate mogul won both the popular vote and the Electoral College.

The announcement shocked many for obvious reasons. Stallone isn’t a politically outspoken star. Plus, it’s well known that airing your conservative views can hurt a Hollywood career.

Or, in the case of Oscar-nominee James Woods, essentially kill it.

Now, we’re learning Stallone may be gainfully employed for the foreseeable future. Variety says Paramount+ wants to extend the star’s “Tulsa King” series for two more seasons – three and four.

The deal isn’t signed, but when news like this leaks it’s typically close to being official.

The popular show casts Stallone as Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a New York Mafioso forced to relocate to Tulsa, Okla. Rather than reinvent himself, he uses his underworld skills to create new businesses for himself and loyalists alike.

The show co-stars Andrea Savage, Garrett Hedlund, Dana Delany and Neal McDonough.

  1. Hmm, something very familiar with the premise of the show! I watched a very entertaining show call “Lillihamer” several years ago about a mafia guy who provided evidence and then had to “hide”! He too used his “skills” to form businesses and affect people’s lives! He also “illegally” killed a WOLF that was decimating local livestock!

I haven’t watched Mr. Stallone’s show – don’t even KNOW if I have Paramount – probably have to pay extra for it?? BUT, good luck to him and if it’s as entertaining as the other show it’s worth watching for those with Paramount!

    1. Amazon Prime recently made the first season available and I managed to binge it before it went back behind the paywall. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. The season finale wraps itself up too quickly for my taste and the cliffhanger ending felt forced. Maybe the writing got better in Season 2, but I don’t feel like signing up for Paramount+ to find out.

  2. Ever notice how celebrities that visit and work in Oklahoma, often moderate or change their views regarding the modern liberal ideology? Levi and Stallone are just recent examples. Although we didn’t *convert* him into being a conservative, even Matt Damon moderated his views about the “heart land,” after filming his Roughnecks movie here.

I think it would really help these actors and actresses to get out of the echo chamber that is Hollywood, and get back in touch with the vast majority of Americans.

  3. I really don’t think Stallone cares one way or another. He’s risen to a level that he doesn’t have to care. He has FU money; and that makes all the difference in the world.

  4. I feel things are going to change in Hollywood. Whether or not that’s due to ridiculous paranoia, I’m finding it delicious!
