Carolla to Torch Woke Culture, Trump Derangement in New Book

Name a celebrity who does more to defend free speech than Adam Carolla.

It’s not easy, is it?

Ricky Gervais is fighting the good fight, no doubt. So are Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, Dave Landau and John Cleese. Sorry, Stern fans, but Howard isn’t doing all he can these days now that he’s dialed back on his own rhetoric.

Stern’s “Bleep the FCC” days are but a memory.

Carolla stands above the rest. Think his vital documentary “No Safe Spaces,” his unexpurgated rants and refusal to apologize to the PC Police.

Adam Carolla on free speech: Don't kowtow to bullies

The New York Times’ best seller is about to double down.

The podcast giant’s upcoming book, “I’m Your Emotional Support Animal: Navigating Our All Woke, No Joke Culture,” drops May 26.

Carolla’s first book’s title alone now sounds brave given the tenor of the times – “In 50 Years We’ll All Be Chicks.” His latest has far more cultural rot to process.

Here’s a sneak peak at “I’m Your Emotional Support Animal” from the press blurb.

… Carolla examines how our culture devolved from one that created real warriors who fought world wars to one that spawns social justice warriors who fight Twitter wars. He gives his first-Whatfinger Newshand, hilarious, account of interacting with a pre-president Trump and takes on “emotional support animal” owners who proclaim their victimhood at every airport. He stands up for the collateral damage of the #MeToo movement and for freedom of speech on “safe space”-strewn college campuses. Turning to social media, Carolla takes down the “hashtag heroes” who signal their virtue daily from atop Twitter mountain. And in the era of the Roomba and meals-on-demand delivery services, he looks down the road at our not-so-bright future as a species.

The Amazon notes on the book include this nugget:

He takes on those who are traumatized by Trump and “emotional support animal” owners who proclaim their victimhood at every airport.

“I felt it was time to tear our society a new one, like I did with my first book. But I knew I needed, and I’m glad I found, a publisher brave enough to let me speak my truth and be my best self. #I’mAHero,” Carolla said in a press statement.

It’s the book we need now … more than ever.

Really.

Plus, the heroes in the fight for free speech could use some reinforcements. For every victory, like Gervais’ killer monologue at the Golden Globes and J.K. Rowling standing up to the woke mob, there are defeats (Mario Lopez apologizing for sharing sane thoughts about three-year-old children).

The fight is far from over, but Carolla shows no sign of stepping away from the battlefield.

  1. Conservative libertarians (such as myself…perhaps libertarian conservative?) should give him credit where great credit is due. Listened to him in the early aughts with Doctor Drew on late night FM radio while pushing a squad car…

  2. He’s got a huge fan base and essentially self employed so he has some immunity to cancel culture, but as he’s said numerous times, and I believe this, NOT apologizing and standing your ground removes the woke brigades power. I wish others would try that. Look at the two Southpark guys. Not only do they never apologize, but they throw the middle finger at the cancel culture. Lopez should have just said, you people are crazy, there is nothing wrong with what I said, and then ignored them. Corolla has had the same viewpoint for as long as I’ve been away of him which goes back over 20 years. What was once common sense, mainstream thought has now been bastardized as bey
One the pale by the Uber-woke and for some reason, we listened to them.
