These ‘Gutfeld!’ Ratings Stats Should Scare Liberal Late Night Silly

The Fox News superstar is getting the lion's share of this valuable group

Gutfeld!” isn’t going away.

Fox News’ late night entry became a ratings smash last year out of the gate, crashing the landscape’s far-Left narratives in the process.

“Gutfeld!” even beats “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on occasion, making him the king of late night on many occasions. More often than not, Greg Gutfeld nips at that late-night show’s heels but crushes mainstays like “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and the historic “Tonight Show.” over at NBC.

Needless to say “Gutfeld!” dwarfs the low-rated “Last Week Tonight” with John Oliver and basement-dwellers like “The Daily Show” and “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.” The same holds true for Seth Meyers, Trevor Noah and James Corden of “The Late Late Show” fame for total audience and total viewership.

New data points, courtesy of Fox News, should send shivers down the spine of Colbert and co. Even the Not Ready for Prime Time Players at “Saturday Night Live” can learn a thing or two from the late-night newbie.

Now we know this story is as false as Joe's teeth: Gutfeld

Gutfeld! posted double-digit percent growth since the same quarter last year in total viewers and A25-54 and averaged nearly 2 million viewers and 344,000 with A25-54 this quarter, outpacing ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! and NBC’s The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon in total viewers. FNC’s late night show also bested Comedy Central’s The Daily Show and TBS’ Full Frontal with Samantha Bee across the board in total viewers and the younger 25-54 demo.

Fox News, known for attracting an older audience, is reversing course when it comes to late night TV viewers.

It gets worse for the show’s competition.

Notably, Gutfeld! has the highest median income in all of late night television (ABC, CBS and NBC) in the younger 25-54 demo as well as the most upscale audience in total viewers and A25-54.

Gutfeld’s irreverent humor, willing to speak truth to power against the Biden administration, is drawing a lucrative, and surprisingly young, crowd.

Said viewers must be starved for humor on late-night TV talk shows that mock the status quo and drop the liberal humor now and then. They certainly can’t find that across the existing late-night landscape or “SNL.” Colbert and co. refuse to hold Team Biden accountable for, well, anything. The most Colbert can summon against Biden is a flurry of toothless old-age jokes. That holds true for the other late-night comics. They essentially work in tandem, mocking similar topics and avoiding any politician with a “D” in front of his or her name.

It’s like watching MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow with an occasional celebrity like Tom Hanks dropping by to interrupt the monologue. There’s a better chance of Colbert or Kimmel yukking it up with Dr. Anthony Fauci then skewering him for his chronic flip-flopping.

Dr. Fauci Gets His Booster Shot LIVE on The Late Show

Those shows also steer clear of Vice President Kamala Harris and her infamous “word salad” speeches. They’re missing ripe comedy material, but they’d rather serve their progressive masters than challenge authority.

Bill Maher, to his credit, does just that on his “Real Time” HBO showcase. And he clings to his liberal bona fides all the while by slamming President Donald Trump or mocking conservatives in toto.

Gone are the days when David Letterman, Jay Leno and even Jon Stewart occasionally poked fun at the Left. Suffice to say the Johnny Carson model, where both political sides were hit with alacrity, went the way of the 8-track tape. That made Carson the biggest comedy show of its kind for decades. His Nielsen Media Research numbers dwarfed even Gutfeld and Colbert combined on a nightly basis.

Today’s splintered cultural landscape and crush of TV options make those numbers impossible today. Still, a more balanced approach to comedy could draw a sizable crowd … if only any network would give it a try.

This comes as more than a million U.S. voters changed their party affiliation from Democrat to Republican, according to far-Left PBS.

The previously unreported number reflects a phenomenon that is playing out in virtually every region of the country — Democratic and Republican states along with cities and small towns — in the period since President Joe Biden replaced former President Donald Trump.

The approaching Red Wave won’t be kind to liberal late night. Yes, progressives will flock to Colbert, Kimmel and like-minded friends for comfort and consolation.

The rest of the country, exhausted by a flailing president responsible for soaring inflation and gas prices, will flock to “Gutfeld!” And they’ll get some fresh faces in the process. Comedians like Michael Loftus, Jimmy Failla, Jamie Lissow and Joe DeVito make frequent pit stops at the Fox News show.

And, chances are, they won’t just be gray-haired grannies but Millennials and Gen Z types hungry for satire. That, in turn, is making the fox news show a ratings success.

    1. This clearly states that on rare occasion he’s peaked, but is sitting squarely at number 3. Conservative hosts will never attract big stars, so he’ll never be number 1, especially given his weak material. Like everyone else on Fox, he just panders. That only goes so far.

      1. His audience just keeps getting larger. The show is great. Big stars are not wanted or needed. The people on his show are interesting, funny, and intelligent. Most people watching Gutfeld dont want to see hollywood liberals.

      2. Waaa Waaaa Waaaaaaaaa!@@
I’ve been wrong about everything politically, socially, spiritually and financially my whole life and now I’m jealous of Greg Gutfeld!

      3. Liberal late night panders too the left and isn’t even remotely funny. Hollywood elites are just as out of touch with a majority of Americans as the progressive politician s are. Weak as can be

      4. Joe. He is #1 every night. you are misreading this (or you just don’t want it to be true). Whether you like him or not they are facts. He crushes the 2 Jimmys by 80% more viewers and beats Colbert consistently. Maybe recheck your logic on what makes success

        1. Dont understand the appeal of any fox news hosts. At least Gutfield tries to make it light. His cohosts are as strange as the train wreck republican congress. Tyruss, really, come on man. Oh speaking of celebrities you don’t want to hear from, Rosanne Barf is on Gutfield tonite

      5. As if he wants “big liberal stars” on his show as he bitch slaps blackface Jimmy Kimmel and the rest of the liberal suck ups.

      6. Your narrow follow the sheep off the cliff is your mom’s nightmare. The writing is so good and why he’s growing numbers. How do you explain fox has higher ratings overall than MSNBC and CNN combined and why so many of the hosts are getting fired. Because of the bad writing, fake news and hosts that just ramble about their personal agendas. Fox has opposing views all the time. You think Don Lemon is a journalist? If he weren’t gay and black, he would be gone his numbers are that low. Not all top list celebs are liberals and because he doesn’t invite top list celebs and so strong, shows the quality of content stands alone.

      7. You folks need to stop thinking “your big stars” know anything. They are simply people that got jobs in the entertainment industry and I hate to break it to you are typically low IQ. I know you think they are like the characters they play on TV and movies but they aren’t. They simply got success by acting and have no clue how the real world works. They virtue signal and talk about things that will never impact their daily lifes. Do you think 10% inflation impacts any “bit star” or multi millionaire politician? Nope that is why they think open boarders are okay because they put wall around their communities and when migrants are bused to their cities the kick and scream.

        1. Who are these stars your talking about. Im watching Rosanne Barr on Gutfield. Probably exciting for a fox viewer. Watch your local news if you want some boring real news. Cable news is all a reality show now. You know they lie, because money they make on ratings dont compare to what they settle in law suits. Dont be gullable. All cable news is mostly B.S. or they wouldnt be on 24/7.

      8. I don’t think Gutfeld wants big stars. They’re all libs. Also, his material is fantastic, as Biden and the left give him comedic gold to work with daily. Face it, the days of your ilk are numbered. Hope you have a backup plan, buddy.

      9. Who needs big stars they’re very talented in what they do and enjoy their movies but in real life most of them are idiots I look at all the other networks so called comedy late night shows I keep trying to find the comedy in them all they seem to be is political right bashing shows that takes snippets out of contexts To try and make their audience laugh it wouldn’t surprise me if they hold up a Laugh now sign for the audience because its the only way I could see for them to get any laughs of course the celebrity guest that come on there are just pushing whatever new project they’re doing the Gutfeld show is fresh well written and just downright funny .He incorporates news with satire one can laugh at but then he will take things very seriously for a moment with the round table of guest without taking things out of contexts where the other network shows do .The nertwork shows don’t have any substance to them they’re just there for what reason I will never understand. No I beg to differ Gutfeld is a
well written funny and very informative show far superior than the other late night fair and without the help of liberal actors to help prop it across the ratings finish line.

      10. Because big name stars who would “go” with this talk show…and there are some… are never gonna come out of the democratic closet….

    2. Maybe the reason you say that is because there’s not enough hate radiating from his show. Lol maybe the view should be your go to show

    3. The only late night show that is actually enjoyable to watch. The other 3 or 4 shows all use the same exact material.

  1. Go do your thing Greg your competition is sinking to the intelligence of their guests … AOC, Uncle Joe, Cankels you know the crowd that hasn’t had an original thought i was going to say years but let’s go with ever.

  2. you should come join us in the twitter hashtag for #Gutfeld! during the show. We’re a pretty funny group.

    1. Nope. Greg is funny. SNL hasn’t been funny since Eddie Murphy’s Gummby, the Church lady, and Sluggo – and the best – John Belushi.

  3. The Greg Gutfeld Show is great WOKE therapy. It’s fantastic to see him beat the late night WOKE shows. I enjoy watching a conservative that loves America, utterly humiliate the mumbling bumbling man, and his followers.

    1. If you like Greg, Tivo “The FIVE”- they are all running on 5 cylinders – very funny and great news analysis. They finally have the perfect rotating cast and chemistry. Jesse Watters has learned humor from Greg and even his show is very entertaining now, I watch him over more serious and dramatic Tucker or Hannity (unless it’s a breaking news stories with the Woke melting down like this week!

  4. Where else but fox for conservative viewers

Fox news only competition for right wing news are One America, NewMax and other assorted tiny operations. they are essentially alone in their niche market; which is what Roger Ails and Rupert Murdock wanted when they started Fox. Taken as a whole, CBS, ABC and NBC, as well as other cable operations CNN, MSNBC and smaller late night shows on HBO, TBS etc. dwarf fox’s audience as do their ever expanding internet viewers.

For Example, Tucker Carlson, the biggest program on Fox has approx 3mil viewers, but that is small compared to each of the three major networks’ evening news broadcast which averages between 5-12 million each night.

There is fear on the left, but it has nothing to do with Gutfeld or Fox. It is because of the disproportionate power in Congress and on the Supreme Court wielded by the right wing in spite of its ever declining numbers. On December 17, 2020, Gallup polling found that 31% of Americans identified as Democrats, 25% identified as Republican, and 41% as Independent. Even though most independents tend to vote Republican, it still leaves a total of 10 million Americans leaning left. Republican Party research has been documenting this decline since 2000. This research projects continuing declines in key conservative demographics such as older voters, voters who attend church and voters left behind as the income divide grows.

In light of this, the enemy of Conservatives has ceased to be the Democrats and has become a democratic form of government, much as is was for the South just before the civil war. Which is why there have been several Republican Politicians such as Senator Mike Lee of Utah openly questioning democracy as the preferred form of government for the United States.

    1. Really Charlie? Have you seen the polls lately? Does your precious CNN or MSNBC discuss the fact that independents, increasing numbers of Hispanics and blacks are tired of the radical left wing policies and disapprove of Biden / Democrats in huge numbers? As for democracy – the current SCOTUS is returning power to the people. Case in point – instead of 9 unelected judges deciding abortion law, as was done in ‘73, they returned the power to state legislatures and VOTERS to debate and vote. It reaffirmed the 2nd Amdt – the right to bear arms back to the people – not leftie local govts that vote on the one hand to defund police and with the other take away their right to defend themselves. Or with the environmental law – returns power back to Congress and voters – not keeping it unelected bureaucrats through regulations. It’s clear the left only likes our republic form of government when it’s institutions go their way 100% – big government “King-like” control. Voters will get to decide again this November – much to the chagrin of left wing socialist “democrats.”

    2. Really Charles? Have you seen the polls lately? Hispanics and blacks are disapproving Biden’s and DEM policies in huge numbers. You say DEMS are afraid of the “disproportionate power in Congress and on the Supreme Court wielded by the right wing in spite of its ever declining numbers.” When’s the last time you counted Congress’s party numbers? Does a proportionate power share only occur when the Democrats overwhelm the Republicans in Congress or SCOTUS? If so, you’re in for a surprise this November. As for a democratic form of government the current SCOTUS is returning it to the people. Case in point – with regard to abortion – unlike the ‘73 SCOTUS – the current court returned abortion law BACK to the states and the people and instead of leaving it with 9 unelected judges, now state legislatures and the people get to vote. Even Justice Ruth Ginsburg said Roe v Wade was decided on shaky ground. With regard to gun rights, the current SCOTUS returned 2nd Amdt rights back to the people – leaving it not with local leftie govts that decide with one hand to defund police and the other take away the right of citizens to defend themselves. With regard to environmental law, the SCOTUS returned the power back to Congress and the people, not leaving it with unelected bureaucrats and regulations. It’s clear the left only likes our republic form of government when its institutions go 100% their way and increases big government control.

      1. Right on. It’s like the entire Left is mde up of 12 yo girls who just discovered feminism and are going through a phase. They have all these world views with zero idea on how to make effective policy. They just want everything to go their way. No more fossil fuels, no more cops, no more borders, no more genders, no more science and sanity. They just plain suck.

    3. 31% identify as Democrat, 25% as republican”. Thank God for this stat! Means a majority are free thinkers not bound by a “party”. Really the only reason to “identify” for either party is to vote in some states primaries. You can keep your 31%!

    4. Put the drugs down Charlie!
      1st, Gutfeld is killing it.
2nd, In about 4 more months, if America is lucky, we’ve seen the last of the democrat party’s political power for the next decade. it’s going to be a long haul back to normalcy, but, America has survived worst!

      Black Conservative,
      Blaxit the democrat party.

  5. Really? Have you seen the polls lately? Does your precious CNN / MSNBC discuss the fact that independents, increasing numbers of Hispanics and blacks are tired of the radical left wing policies and disapprove of Biden / Democrats policy in huge numbers? 6. Greg Gutfeld mixes satire with politics, the only way to listen to politics. Instead of being biting and derogatory (see Kimmel and Colbert), he’s sarcastic and tongue in cheek. Fox News has a variety of views- not just Conservative and that’s why people watch.

  7. Grreg Gutfeld and his panel are the only people on tv with any common sense! I’m an old woman 66 almost and this country has been turned into an embarrassment again it reminds my husband and I of th 60s another left wing mess that ushered in the Reagan years thank god. Anyone who has been lucky enough to see some of the world Americans especially women when they get off the plane should kiss our countries soil because upon traveling you see how lucky we all are to live in this great country. I am a true American and I believe everyone deserves to be heard please just have some manners for once. Thank you Mr. Gutfeld and your cast Kay Tyrus etc. you are all great and give us some great humor in these tough time. Sincerely, Margo Hohman

    1. I agree! Why doesn’t anyone ask what the hell are these illegal immigrants going to do for money when they get here? Freaking sponge off of our hard earned $. I love Gutfeld he tells it like it is!

  8. It’s smart, intelligent & funny. The guest are informed on current & past events. They have openly gay people. The panel makes fun of themselves. And no other late night host talks crap about them as they’re afraid of Tyrus.

  9. Notice that Greg doesn’t discriminate. He continually makes fun of other Fox shows like Fox and Friends, and even takes shots at their advertisers like My Pillow and the Gold merchants. People love that, his bosses clearly get the jokes.

  10. Ha! The approaching Red wave. It never happened. And everything on this article and even the comments are so wrong. Clearly most americans don’t want a Republican majority. And Gutfeld still sucks. Late night shows put together account for more viewers than just Gutfeld alone. It’s not about one show, it’s about the variety of shows that exist. And liberal shows still dominate.
