Margaret Cho: Trans Jokes Kill Trans People
Far-left comic danced on Sen. Lindsay Graham's grave, now attacks comedy
Margaret Cho is nothing if not inconsistent.
The far-Left comedian recently went on social media to celebrate the death of GOP stalwart Sen. Lindsay Graham. She also wished death on Sen. Mitch McConnell, the retiring politician who hasn’t been seen in public for weeks following a medical incident.
A comedian could make hay with the latter, mocking the lack of transparency in play.
Instead, she played the Cruelty Card.

Now, Cho is demanding her fellow comedians stop telling jokes at the expense of the trans community. That sentiment ran wild during Peak Woke, a time when the Left nearly cancelled Dave Chappelle for sharing those jokes in 2021’s Netflix special, “The Closer.”
Did it matter that Chappelle ended that stand-up special with a heartfelt tribute to a late trans comic? Apparently not.
Cho says the mere act of telling a trans joke can be deadly.
Her proof? Good luck with that. It didn’t stop her from making those allegations. Here’s what she said on the subject on the “Who’s With Me?” podcast hosted by W. Kamau Bell.
“I think trans lives have become a very big thing in comedy, because they want to contest it. They don’t understand that when you take trans lives lightly in a comedy routine, trans people die, and they don’t have that understanding. There are real consequences to your actions, because they don’t affect you personally, but this will affect a trans person’s life.”
Andrew Schulz has a great response to this kind of thinking. He often discusses how he tells jokes about all communities, and why it’s both practical and beneficial. Everyone feels included, for starters. And, if we can’t laugh at ourselves, that’s a problem.
You can see the results in the faces of his stand-up audiences. Smiles. Laughter. Recognition. Acceptance.
Don Rickles, the ultimate insult comic, deployed the same strategy for years. It made him a comedy icon.

Now, a comedian can always tell a mean-spirited joke at any group. We hear those all the time – just Google “Orange Man Bad.” Here’s betting Cho would never want those jokes to be censored.
And, to a degree, there’s a place for that brand of comedy. If a comic has a consistently cruel routine, his or her audience will likely dwindle over time.
The bigger picture is more alarming.
Why would any comedian, especially one as outrageous as Cho, attempt to limit what people can and can’t say on stage?
Margaret Cho is only doing what all washed-up talent does.

Small correction here if I may. I think Cho’s being incredibly consistent in that she’s a leftoid douche nozzle. Leftoid douche nozzles are utterly consistent in their hypocrisy. It’s always okay when THEY do something, but bad when the people they disagree with ideologically do the same thing. In her mind it’s absolutely 100% fine for her to revel in Graham’s death while wishing death on McConnell and Trump because she operates with “right think.” At the same time, in her mind, it’s also 100% wrong for someone she doesn’t like to tell a trans joke because that person has “wrong think.”

It’s the same leftoid “logic” that allows them to say “words are violence” while holding the idea that “punching a Nazi” is NOT violence because it’s simply what the person they consider a “Nazi” deserves for having “wrong think.”

Or another example. For people like Cho, the wee bit of chaos that happened on January 6th was heinous and one of the worst things to ever happen to the country. However, months of leftists rioting, looting and killing because a serial criminal happened to die from an overdose while in police custody was ENTIRELY JUSTIFIED.

So yea, while I don’t disagree with your general premise about Cho and her wanting censorship for some but not herself, I find that to be totally consistent with how left-wing people’s brains work. “Rules for thee, but not for me” and all that.
