Rainn Wilson Slams Left for Cheering Charlie Kirk’s Murder

'Office' superstar not backing down, unlike Oscar-winner Jamie Lee Curtis

Katie Couric isn’t alone.

The former mainstream journalist tried to force Sen. John Fetterman into saying something cruel earlier this week. Long story short? The late Charlie Kirk had it coming.

Sen. Fetterman didn’t take the bait. Instead, the politician gently pushed back on Couric’s line of questioning.

Blame Couric all you want (and you should). Her position isn’t that different than some of her fellow Leftists.

Once again. Kirk had it coming.

That’s the feedback “Office” alum Rainn Wilson heard when he dared to share his grief over Kirk’s Sept. 10 murder. Here, the actor shares the reaction he received after publicly mourning Kirk’s death on his “Soul Boom” podcast.

“If you go online right now, there’s nothing but hate. And I caught a lot of s***  for saying, ‘hey, it really sucks that Charlie Kirk was shot in front of his wife and kids. And actually that he was a courageous man because unlike 99 percent of people he was going into quote, unquote hostile spaces, people that disagreed with him, and having debate. Now, I didn’t agree with most everything that came out of his mouth, but I got a lot of hate from the Left for saying that.”

“That was another flashpoint, another touch point about like, what if we just took a week or a month or a period of time to just love Charlie Kirk’s family?”

Wilson added a “both sides” explainer next, saying the demonization we see in the culture today comes from the Left and the Right.

He’s correct, to a minor degree, but the hate shown to Kirk’s family came in waves. Very few public figures, particularly in Hollywood, raged against it like he has.

This isn’t the first time Wilson shared this sentiment. He spoke with actor Mark Ruffalo last month, and a similar subject came up.

“I spoke to a couple of — let’s say — some liberal friends last night at an event, and they were like, ‘You won’t find me shedding any tears,’ and someone else was like, ‘Oh well.’ There was a little bit of a, kind of a good riddance thing, and it’s like, ‘Guys, no,” he told actor Mark Ruffalo.

“We cannot think or talk that way. That is not okay.”

Hollywood has been mostly silent on the Kirk assassination. A few, like Jamie Lee Curtis, publicly shared her horror after hearing the news. Sadly, the Oscar winner subsequently backpedaled on her statements after getting roasted by some Leftists.

Kirk’s murder took place days before the 2025 Emmys telecast. No star mentioned his passing or wished his grieving widow well during the ceremony.
