Graham Linehan: My Arrest ‘Blew Up in Their Faces’

Megyn Kelly lets Irish comedian share his side of shocking free speech attack

The corrupt, biased press went silent after Tara Reade accused Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her in 1993.

Nothing to see here. Move along. It lasted for weeks.

The only mainstream journalist to seek Reade out for an interview at the time? Megyn Kelly.

The MK Interview: Will Tara Reade go under oath or take a polygraph?

The former Fox News superstar wasn’t the media force she is today, though. Kelly had been unfairly jettisoned by NBC after some innocent comments about blackface were weaponized against her.

Kelly still saw the obvious news value in speaking with Reade, and she used her then-modest platform to conduct the interview.

Today, Kelly is one of the media’s biggest stars. She recently launched several new programs as part of her podcast empire, MK Media, featuring hosts like Link Lauren, Maureen Callahan, Emily Jashinsky and Mark Halperin.

And, once again, Kelly interviewed a subject with an amazing story to tell, who you won’t find anywhere else. This story also doesn’t align with the Legacy Media’s narrative.

She did it anyway.

Monday’s edition of “The Megyn Kelly Show” let comedian Graham Linehan reveal the shocking details of his UK arrest for sharing problematic posts about the trans community.

Linehan, 57, shared three social media posts in April that were critical of elements of the trans movement.

“Women are the guinea pigs in this social experiment,” Linehan told Kelly about his view that trans rights often overshadow women’s rights.

He revealed during the powerful Q&A that he’s suing the British police for false imprisonment. “I’m going to make them very nervous about arresting people for this type of thing in the future.”

Linehan, who says the stress over attacks on him helped end his marriage, also suffered professionally for criticizing trans-related issues.

He had planned to make his “Father Ted” series into a musical, but his colleagues refused to work with him. The company in question even offered to pay him 200,000£ to walk away.

‘I said, ‘This is too important for me to stop talking about,'” he recalled.

Linehan’s professional colleagues abandoned him, too, as did personal friends.

“Not a single one stood by me,” he added.

The comic writer suggested America’s hard-Left stands on societal issues may stem, in part, from an affection for British culture. That, at the moment, harbors far-Left views on Palestinians, trans culture, open border policies and more.

He did share a positive development following his arrest. He says he’s received sizable support in public following the arrest.

“This has blown back in their faces so much better than I could have ever hoped… I get thumbs up from caddies … and secret smiles from people,” he said.

  1. How shameful that professional colleagues and personal friends abandoned him. He’s a very brave person to stand up to the alphabet mafia. They are amazingly powerful and dangerous as he obviously knows.
