Late-Night Lunacy Reaches Staggering New Levels
Fake News peddlers Colbert, Maddow push newest conspiracy theory

Stephen Colbert spent years spreading one of the worst political lies in recent memory.
“The Late Show” host went all-in on the Russia Conspiracy Hoax, going so far as to call President Donald Trump the “c***holster” for Russian strongman Vladimir Putin.
Then, when the hoax dissembled in real time, he couldn’t even muster a simple, “My bad” to his corporate audience.
Nothing.
Rachel Maddow is even worse on this front. She was part of the MSNBC machine that pushed the same hoax on a nightly basis. Again, no apologies.
This week, Colbert and Maddow reunited to spread more conspiracies.
This time, the duo said the GOP is planning to eliminate elections moving forward to keep them in power, presumably forever.
Their proof? They have none. That doesn’t stop them, of course. It rarely does. It’s similar to the conspiratorial nonsense spouted on “The View.” All mania. Few, if any, facts.
RELATED: LATE NIGHT LIES ARE NO LAUGHING MATTER
Here’s Colbert setting the conspiracy in motion:
“This is not the behavior of people who seem like they believe they have to answer to voters in 18 months. That worries me. Not that they are not worried, but that they don’t think that they should be worried because maybe they don’t have to worry about an election at all.”
Maddow: “[Trump] doesn’t think there should be elections.”
“They are consolidating power, they’re disempowering Congress, ignoring Congress, defunding agencies or closing agencies. That’s Congress’s job, that’s not the president’s job. When they are defying court orders, that’s them saying the courts don’t have authority over the president, that’s consolidating all the power in one man, that’s authoritarianism, and that’s what you do when you don’t ever want to have an election because you want to stay in power for life, and that is what they are trying.”
There’s nothing funny about this fear mongering. And, worst of all, this is allegedly a comedic showcase. It’s late-night TV, where viewers expect to settle into their beds with some light entertainment.
Instead, they’re force-fed the rantings of far-Left souls who’d rather scare viewers than entertain them.
And, when 2026 rolls around and the elections proceed as usual, neither will offer a hint of a mea culpa. They’ll be too busy telling us the 2028 elections won’t happen.
