Colbert Throws KJP Under Bus to Save His Skin
Combative interview lets host duck responsibility for hiding Biden's decline
The truth made an unexpected appearance on “The Late Show” Monday night.
Host Stephen Colbert invited former White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre on to promote her new book, “Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines.”
Jean-Pierre helped hide President Joe Biden’s obvious mental decline along with fellow White House staffers and the Legacy Media. So did late-night hosts like Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers and John Oliver.
Nothing to see here, save the most powerful man in the world stumbling to make sense. Move along.
Some late-night hosts were more culpable than others, though.
Kimmel hosted a Biden fundraiser weeks before the leader’s disastrous July 27 presidential debate with Donald Trump. The “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host covered up for Biden after the president froze during the event’s final moments.
Former President Barack Obama had to gingerly walk Biden off the stage.
We all saw it. Yet Kimmel pretended it didn’t happen, scolding those who witnessed the sad spectacle for believing their own eyes.
Colbert, who hosted a separate Biden fundraiser last year, pressed Jean-Pierre surprisingly hard on Biden’s mental state during an often tense exchange. He typically lobs softball queries at left-leaning guests.
Not Monday.
Jean-Pierre’s media talking points are simple and ludicrous. She ditched the Democrats for the way they treated Biden during the final months of the election cycle.
It’s absurd, of course. Democrats hid Biden’s decline, sticking with a sick man until his mental fog got exposed for all to see during the debate.
Colbert wasn’t buying that argument. And, in the process, he tried to deflect blame for covering up Biden’s decline.
“It was very personal for those of us who watched it too, because it was a shock to our system to see that [debate]. Because — I mean, you’re talking to a guy who helped raise $25 million for Joe Biden in March of that same year,” Colbert, a staunch Biden supporter, told Jean-Pierre. “And three months later, I saw a guy who I had not seen backstage at the benefit that I did. It seemed like a dramatically different person. And at 81 years old, that’s not entirely unexpected. You can imagine why people got so worried.”
Yes, Colbert thinks Biden was perfectly fine in March but had dramatically declined in just three months. That ignores the fact that clear-thinking Americans saw said decline starting in 2020. And, according to Jake Tapper’s book “Original Sin,” the signs of Biden’s decline were everywhere for far too long.
Jean-Pierre isn’t getting the warm reception she expected from corrupt outlets like “The Late Show.” For Colbert, her appearance became damage control for him, not her.
Colbert, Kimmel KJP, etc. et al. gaslighted us for over four years as even during the 2020 campaign, it was obvious Biden was starting to lose it. Give it a rest. You people lied to our faces and continue to do so. You may think us MAGA yokels are too stupid to see through your BS, but we did and we still do. Give it a rest, admit your guy was a loser in more ways than one, shut up and get off the stage.
