Hall of Fame Rocker Pens Haunting Charlie Kirk Tribute

Journey's Jonathan Cain honors slain conservative hero with 'No One Else'

Charlie Kirk’s assassination left a hole in the culture that won’t be easily filled.

The late conservative’s willingness to debate the Left, and do so with a smile, made him a unique voice in American life.

His Sept. 10 murder did more than silence a consequentional voice. It revealed the Left’s ugliest side. Too many voices celebrated his murder or twisted his words beyond recognition to demonize him.

One veteran singer saw the real Kirk and wants us to remember him as he lived, not as his enemies framed him following his death.

“No One Else” comes courtesy of Jonathan Cain, veteran Journey musician and a solo artist in his own right.

Jonathan Cain - No One Else (Official Lyric Video) A Tribute To Charlie Kirk

The just-released song lets Cain share his personal connection to Kirk. The musician first met Kirk when he was 22 and still finding his voice as a pundit and political leader.

“Charlie started out as a political activist and ended up as an evangelist, tackling the questions of social problems of the youth today,” says Cain in a press statement tied to the new track. “With ‘No One Else,’ I wanted to leave something that framed that story. Music has always been how I express what words alone cannot, and I think everything he did – he was so full of hope, energy and positivity – is worth singing about. I want this song to sort of echo his movement, leaving something behind that musically speaks to what his movement is about.

“Charlie became one of the biggest evangelists since Billy Graham. There’s nobody like him that had such a profound effect taking the message of Jesus and conservatism to the younger generation. It was an extraordinary achievement.”

Cain is a worship leader in his home church, City Of Destiny Church in Apopka, Fla. He plans to donate proceeds from the song to Turning Point USA, the organization Kirk founded in 2012 to promote conservative values in young Americans.

Here’s part of “No One Else’s” lyrics:

No one else… reached generations
Could heal with truth and conversation
Setting all differences aside

No one else…could question hate
Turn hearts and minds with true debate
From the battle our nation will arise

Faithful servant, you’ve done well
No one else
