Bryan Callen: Hollywood Did Stunning 180 on Pronouns

Veteran comic, 'Hangover' alum shares fallout from Trump support, Biden critique

Bryan Callen has a simple trick for thriving in Hollywood.

Say “yes.” A lot.

The “MADtv” alum and stand-up offered that advice during a raw conversation on “Ryan Schuiling Live,” heard 6-10 a.m. MT weekdays on Denver’s 630 KHOW. Callen opened up about his busy career and comedy principles to promote his weekend gigs at Comedy Works’ downtown location.

And he didn’t pull a single punch.

Bryan Callen – FALSE GODS (Full Comedy Special) | Live at Joe Rogan’s Comedy Mothership

Callen’s eye-opening comments included a peek behind the Hollywood curtain. He recalled appearing on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” an interview that stirred up some unexpected trouble.

“When I went on Rogan and said the equivalent of, ‘Basically, I’m gonna vote for Trump because Biden has cognitive issues,’ I got calls from people,” Callen said. “You’re doing something dangerous,” they told him.

“There is a network of people back then that can destroy you for even having political beliefs,” he said.

He also slammed those trying to cancel comedians or punish those who tell “problematic” jokes.

“People involved in that have no humor … the far Left, they’re reasonable,” he said sarcastically. “So what I do is I buck against that … the minute you bow down to those active Twitter maniacs, you’re lost.”

Callen now calls Austin home, and he’s not alone. Other comedians have flocked to the Texas city after Rogan established his Comedy Mothership club. Think Rogan, Tyler Fischer, Roseanne Barr, Tom Segura and more.

Callen routinely plays the venue, situated in a decidedly purple city. And he does so without worrying about who he might offend. Austin residents can take a joke, even if the coastal elites can’t.

“Come out to the Mothership in Austin and tell me how your protest goes,” he joked.

Later, Callen shared why the cultural winds are shifting in Tinsel Town. Turns out a movie or TV show set is no place for a prima donna or someone who demands special treatment – think unconventional pronouns.

“Anybody who creates any of that kind of energy, it becomes problematic,” Callen explained. “When Hollywood hired all those DEI officers, movies started losing money.”

And, as a result, many were “quietly fired,” he said. That was then, albeit a few short years ago. The professional climate today is different, he explained.

“Now, the minute you apply for a job in Hollywood … if you wanna work on the set, if you put your pronouns down [on your resume], you ain’t getting the job. Nobody wants to deal with that maintenace,” he said. “I’ve been in those rooms [where decisions are made]. ‘Nope, I don’t wanna do any of that pronoun stuff.'”

“You can’t afford to have somebody sue or make a scene,” he added. “You’re dealing with too much money. You got 23 days to shoot this thing … nobody wants that [drama].”

  1. He is either a LIAR or simply wrong. The MULTI BILLION DOLLAR MERGER between Warner and Netflix was DERAILED because when they met to discuss it at NETFLIX’S HEADQUARTERS GUESS WHAT THEY FOUND IN THE MEN’S ROOM. So Callen is either lying or simply voicing his uninformed opinion. But I DO know. Way back in 2006 at the upfronts then head of ABC David Westin issued a edict that opposition to gay marriage would no longer be allowed on their airwaves, all of the other networks followed suit. The derangement is not coming form society only IT’S ALSO IN THE HIGHEST ECHELONS OF HOLLYWOOD. Think about it. Even while LYING TO DEAL MAKERS FACES promising their company “ISN’T WOKE, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?” This happened…….

“During the negotiations, while Netflix was telling skeptical GOP lawmakers that it wasn’t a left-wing company looking to get more powerful by snapping up WBD, a delegation of legislators paid a visit to its headquarters, and one was both shocked and disturbed to find a basket containing tampons in the men’s restroom.”

  2. I work from home and earn a respectable $6k a week, which is amazing considering that a year ago I was unemployed in a terrible economy. I always give God praise for honoring me with these rules, and now it’s my duty to practice anticipatory compassion and share it with everyone. Likewise,
