FAKE NEWS? ABC Wants Pro-Trump Voice on ‘The View’

Far-left talk show still melting down over mogul's election victory

Shane Gillis’s “Saturday Night Live” career ended before he could step on the historic show’s stage.

Sure, he hosted the program last year, but he originally was slated to be part of the Not Ready for Prime Time Players. His “problematic” jokes crushed those “SNL” dreams.

Show founder Lorne Michaels said hiring Gillis was meant to reach across the ideological aisle.

That was a lie.

How do we know? The show has made zero attempt to hire a right-leaning comic since that debacle. Gillis, while hardly progressive, isn’t unabashedly conservative. Plus, the show has remained a far-Left showcase with only a microscopic amount of fair and balanced yuks.

That rushed to mind after reading The New York Post’s report on the “panic” behind the scenes at “The View.” The report says ABC brass is desperate to add a pro-Trump voice to the long-running talk show.

As is, “The View” is as anti-Trump as MSNBC, and even the host who purports to be a Republican (Alyssa Farah Griffin) loathes the 45th and 47th president.

“The View is facing pressure from higher-ups,” the source said. “Viewers can expect some major changes including bringing in new panelists that can bring in a pro-Trump perspective.”

“Everyone on ‘The View’ endorsed Kamala Harris. They lost. They are out of touch with America,” the source said.

“For a show about different perspectives, ‘The View’ doesn’t seem to have any when it comes to Trump. ABC bosses don’t want to alienate the pro-Trump demographic.”

Quick, how many pro-Trump viewers are currently watching “The View?” Hate watching doesn’t count. Nor does the number of MAGA voters who tuned in after Election Day.

You could probably count them on one hand.

The show has systematically chased away any center-Right to conservative viewers over the years. Adding a pro-Trump voice would only cause chaos on the show. That might be fun for a while, but it would still mean four to six hosts against one.

Why would Trump voters tune in to see that? The Trump booster’s presence would enrage Whoopi Goldberg and co., threatening whatever unity exists among the hosts.

The show did offer a sound, sane conservative voice for a spell. Meghan McCain eventually quit, exhausted by being the lone right-leaning voice on the program.

Would anyone sign up to take that position? More importantly, why would ABC brass bother? Network executives don’t seem to mind the crush of hateful, fact-free rants spewing from the existing hosts.

They certainly haven’t cared about political bias up until now. One election won’t change that.

  1. I know she had a fallout with Trump over the border wall, but wouldn’t it be great to see Ann Coulter take one of those chairs?
    That would be fun.
