Elon Musk Slams Netflix’s Woke ‘Gone with the Wind’ Description

Streaming platform's film recap reeks of extreme virtue signaling

Netflix subscribers can’t watch the 1939 film classic “Gone With the Wind” on the streamer.

Yet.

The company has a digital placeholder for the film, suggesting it may one day grace its streaming catalog. But there’s a catch – a catch so woke it’s like taking a time machine back to 2020.

Netflix’s “Gone With the Wind” page features a terse description of the beloved film, a title attacked in recent years for its archaic perspective on slavery.

No, it’s not remotely close to “Birth of a Nation,” a film with profoundly racist content. Still, “Gone With the Wind” doesn’t excoriate the “peculiar institution” like a film made today would.

That explains, partly, the Netflix descriptor on the title.

Nethflix’s clumsy messaging went viral this week on X. And, as a result, it caught the attention of the person who oversees the digital platform. Elon Musk.

Musk has been aggressive in calling out what he dubbed the “woke mind virus.” He recently savaged Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” for its woke casting choices – Lupita Nyong’o and Elliot Page.
