Melania’s Right, But Firing Jimmy Kimmel Would Be Wrong

FLOTUS skewers late-night hack for hateful assassination rhetoric

President Donald Trump routinely flays his critics. Nobody does it better, and by “better” we mean meaner.

When First Lady Melania Trump does the honors, it’s different.

FLOTUS isn’t outspoken, one of the reasons the Prime Video documentary “Melania” made such a splash at the box office. We rarely hear from her, so when she speaks, it resonates.

And she just took Jimmy Kimmel to the woodshed for his hateful brand of late-night TV.

‘Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy – his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America,’ the First Lady wrote on X Monday morning.

‘People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate … A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.”

Why lash out at Kimmel now? Kimmel’s most recent Trump roast featured this line.

‘Our First Lady, Melania, is here. Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.”

Days later, a would-be assassin tried to take out President Trump and members of his inner circle.

Kimmel’s rhetoric has been gross, uniformly unfunny and deceitful for some time. He’s pushed the notion that the President is out to kill us, pretended the violent group Antifa doesn’t exist and got suspended for lying about the suspect in Charlie Kirk’s murder.

ABC should have fired him a long time ago. He’s a sad excuse for a late-night comedian, and he truly is making America worse with his commentary.

Two reasons come to mind for not honoring the First Lady’s request.

The first is less important but still worth saying aloud. It would play right into Kimmel’s hands and, by extension, the modern, angry Left. They’d scream that Team Trump is silencing his opponents, ignoring the critical context in play.

The Left used that playbook following Kimmel’s Kirk misdirection, for which he never actually apologized.

That would make the ideological wars even hotter.

Late Night Lies Just Won't Stop

The second reason is more vital. Yes, ABC should be ashamed of itself for keeping Kimmel on the air. It’s a disgrace, but then again so is letting “The View” spew its hate and conspiracy five days a week.

But we’re living in the death of shame, to quote “FOX Across America” host Jimmy Failla, so that’s not even new, sadly.

The First Amendment allows for Kimmel’s brand of misinformation and hate. It’s up to audiences to either tune away or hang on every bit of his propaganda.

Firing Kimmel now is akin to wiping conspiracy monger Alex Jones off of social media a few years back. It might have felt good and righteous, but what happened next? Well, we all saw that scenario.

At this point, if ABC actually did the moral thing and fired Kimmel it would look like the Trumps made it happen. Instead of the truth – a late-night show host has lost his way, spreads rage on a nightly basis and has forgotten what his job description entails.

Still, what the First Lady said needed to be shared. It matters. Now, it’s up to the rest of us to reject Kimmel or allow more of his unhinged commentary.

That’s the American way, for better and worse.

  1. Kimmel’s lucky that conservatives don’t seem to have the same violent mindset that his liberal pals have, or he’d have a target on his back, too. And he knows it, which is why he feels safe saying what he does. If this blows over with no consequences, he’ll come back more vile than ever,

  2. Regarding your first amendment defense of Kimmel, to oversimplify slightly, the first amendment guarantees freedom of the press for those who own one. Government can’t punish ABC for putting him on but Kimmel has no constitutional right at all to hold a job with them. Melania’s statement does not constitute government action. If she and public presssure persuade ABC to fire him, good. Justice will have been done and the constitution will be unmarred.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

Silly rabbit, EVERYTHING plays into the hands of mentally, morally unbalanced evil F-ers. There is NOTHING they cannot turn to their self-eroticizing “advantage”. Have you not learned that IGNORING them is the only way we get to keep OUR sanity, and country?

    1. I hate to disagree, but in recent months the show has been creeping up in the ratings while Jimmy Fallon continues to slump. The revenue generated by late-night TV is slip sliding away, though, and I wonder if Kimmel’s show is losing the big bucks a la Colbert’s The Late Show. Wish we could look at the books!

  4. I have to disagree strongly on this one.
This is the John McCain – Mitt Romney philosophy of we’re not going to stoop to their level, we’ll hold our heads up high with dignity and the public will see that we are the better people and support us.
That might have been the case once upon a time, but not in 2026. They’re trying to kill us, and they aren’t shy about it. I don’t think it’s going too far to kick their asses of the air for glorifying it. If they want to cry victim and play the martyr, that doesn’t make their firing any less justified. The Right has gotten fed up with the McCains and the Romney and the Cheneys for a reason – we’re tired of getting steamrolled by people who flaunt the rules and constantly get away with it.
ABC is the public airwaves, not a Youtube account or cable channel.

      1. With all due respect, Phil wins this one. I’m also gonna pile on and say your argument referencing the First Amendment was anemic. If Christian Toto runs a network like ABC, and a comic under his employ jokes about assassination (TWICE), he can certainly tell that comic to tell his jokes walking.

  5. This is flat out cuckery. An employee of Disney gets on television and makes a joke about the President getting assassinated (because no-one but truly delusional lefties think Trump is dropping dead), and your reaction is to clutch your pearls. Listen to this, and listen well, swell boy: When you give permission to your enemies to laugh about killing you, it’ won’t be a joke for much longer.

  6. I am so effin’ sick of so-called “this is not who we are” RINO-Republicans and pseudo-conservatives who refuse to even think about using same weapons that the left and the lockstep Dems (meaning all Dems not named “John Fetterman”) use against us. Please reconsider your “this is not who we are.” I’m sick of unilateral disarmament and those who advocate for us to do that.

    1. I’m with Toto on this.
Every time a prominent conservative figure calls for this guy to be fired, it means his show is gonna last a few months longer.
There is nothing media types like more than being courageous — especially if it doesn’t involve any real courage.
And if he’s fired, he will be a martyr and can just do his show on YouTube and make even more money.

      1. The Left always gets them cancelled or assassinated. The Right keeps them on the air. Notice how it goes.
