Ice Cube on ICE: ‘They Want to Traumatize People’

Rapper suggests anyone can be scooped up by Trump's immigration patrols

Maybe Ice Cube is still sore about “War of the Worlds'” Rotten Tomatoes score.

The rapper-turned-actor got skewered for his reimagining of the H.G. Wells classic earlier this month. The film is now playing exclusively on Prime Video.

Now, he’s weighing on more important matters, like an administration willing to enforce the country’s immigration laws.

And he’s not too happy about it.

Ice Cube spoke to Real 92.3’s “The Cruz Show” last week about his BIG3 basketball league and his music career. Host J Cruz brought up recent ICE raids that caught the attention of just about everyone, including “South Park’s” Cartman and co.

Ice Cube called the enforcement efforts “disrespectful” and “heavy-handed.” Then he doubled down on his rhetoric.

“It’s sad, man, I can’t wait until this period is over… It’s crazy to see people dragged out of they [sic] spots of refuge…when you do that to so-called people who are, you know, what they call illegal, now you got the people who are legal who don’t wanna come out. They don’t wanna deal with your ass, either. Everybody’s staying home … nobody’s safe, man. They don’t care who they grab, really. It’s sad … they come in and disrespect everybody. They want to traumatize people.”

The rapper/actor hasn’t publicly weighed in on the enormous costs of unfettered illegal immigration and child trafficking along the border. Nor has he singled out the many cases where illegal immigrants killed Americans, sometimes after being repeatedly ignored by law enforcement.

The Trump administration has taken thousands of dangerous, previously convicted illegal immigrants off the streets in the past eight months.
