Bleecker Street wants U.S. Military members to enjoy a night at the movies on them.

Here’s one screening strategy that won’t spark another culture war battle.

While Twitter users rage over Alamo Drafthouse’s plan to stage women-only screenings for “Wonder Woman,” an indie studio is reaching out to military veterans.

Members of active and retired military personnel will be able to see “Megan Leavey” free May 30 at select Regal Cinemas locations.

Bleecker Street & LD Entertainment, AT&T THANKS, Regal Cinemas and are hosting 190 screenings in all. Tickets are available now via

“Megan Leavey,” based on a true story, follows a young marine corporal (Kate Mara) whose connection to her military combat dog saved many lives while deployed in Iraq.

Marine Cpl. Leavey spots an aggressive dog named Rex who she suspects can be a valuable ally with the right training. Together, they serve more than 100 missions while risking their lives at every step. Mara co-stars with Edie Falco, Ramón Rodríguez, Bradley Whitford and Common.

“Megan Leavey” will be released nationwide June 9.
