ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Extension Ultimate Sign of No Confidence
Far-Left propagandist, Disney know late-night future is cloudy at best

Jimmy Kimmel won’t be going anywhere. At least, not yet.
The far-Left comedian just extended his current ABC/Disney contract by a year. That means he’ll still be telling Orange Man Bad jokes after fellow propagandist Stephen Colbert hangs up his “Late Show” mic in May.
The news, and specifically the modest length of the deal, should come as a surprise to no one.

Kimmel has been coy about his late-night future. He’s wondered aloud how long the format will continue given current economic conditions. He also flirted with retirement in recent years, suggesting he might want to move on to other projects.
And, in the wake of his one-week suspension for lying about Charlie Kirk’s alleged murderer, ABC would have taken a massive PR hit had it cut ties with Kimmel now.
Most consumers wouldn’t care one way or the other. The Hollywood community, which recoiled at Kimmel’s one-week suspension, would have threatened to retaliate against the Mouse House if it severed ties with Kimmel now.
The outraged T-shirts and protest placards would write themselves:
President Donald Trump made them do it!
Now, ABC can delay the inevitable for 12+ months. If Colbert was costing CBS a reported $40 million a year, there’s little chance Kimmel, who generally draws a smaller crowd than Colbert, is making sizable money for ABC.
It’s more likely he’s costing the network.
The one-year extension allows both parties to save face and draw positive headlines. A cynical reading of the news? Both sides showed a serious lack of confidence in both Kimmel’s future and late-night TV in toto.
The other obvious revelation from the deal?
If President Trump were an actual dictator, ABC wouldn’t be able to sign Kimmel to any sort of extension. Trump would personally ensure that Kimmel’s current contract would be his last.
It’s what Adolf Hitler would do.
So that talking point should be dead and buried for rational people. Chances are it’ll thrive all the same, both in the Legacy Media and Leftist circles.
But we repeat ourselves…
